Like I said. It's a journalist that thinks he has divine right to access. He should go and try another sport and see how lucky he is. What did Benson actually ask for?

I have no clue, and don't want to speculate.... i just posted the exchange FWIW.

Fair enough. I've just read what a few of the few cycling journalists who do other sports have said. Those that do and get 5 minutes think that's great - they'll get the job done - those that don't moan and want more.

My cousin's a section editor of a big newspaper - and he says if you can't get what you want in 5 exclusive minutes find a different job.

So your counter argument is not to address anything I said but to trot out the same old tired track based on old quotes made on the spot rather than anything he has actually done.

I’ve always been a bit of a fan of Lance and have sided on the side of innocent until proven guilty with him. There isn’t an athlete or a cyclist out there that isn’t more tested than he is, certainly since his comeback, he’s probably been the most tested cyclist in the pro peloton and you take that on face value and that he’s never failed a drugs test and until he does he’s clean. That’s how I’ve always had as a stance on Lance.”

'I don't think Contador is guilty.'

What has Wiggins done for anti doping?

5 minutes? No wonder modern journalism is ****.

An interview, probably. He claims that Wiggins specifically denied him based on personal bias.

What does he say to do if you aren't even allowed five seconds?

Five minutes from someone important, currant and relevant. The modern media world is demanding. If you get five minutes from someone important, you're lucky. You have to make it count.

Who says he wasn't. I'm guessing Benson was asking for a 'sit-down' and didn't get it. And down he's *****ing about it - same as Kimmage has been for four years.

Yes, and the net outcome is soundbite journalism.

As I said, ****.

So lets get this straight. Wiggins says to a newspaper who is going to print anything he says unchallenged, this macho, im open to a challenge from anyone statement.

Benson: reveals that actually Wiggo is still refusing to talk to people he fears could ask him an honest question.

Your response - "It's a journalist that thinks he has divine right to access"

What does that have to do with anything:confused: Benson isn't complaining, all he's doing is showing that Wiggins is lying.

Benson hasn't said what he asked for. CN got their interview. If Benson asked for a 30 minute sit down and got refused - then that's just a minor journalist *****ing.

No, that's modern journalism. Modern world. No-one of any importance is going to give anyone more than five minutes - there's too many journalists these days. He has people on his paper who know how to work five minutes. The Kimmage model of spending a day with someone is dead.

Quite a lot in 2007 I would say.

Which makes his comments on doping since 2009 all the more suspicious.

Which makes his spike in 2009 all the more amazing...something the skybots never address.

Its possible. But

A Benson is hardly known to carry any sort of anti Sky or anti Wiggins agenda. In fact wiggo's success has probably put money in Benson's pocket, maybe a lot of it.

B wiggins has a prior here when he last minute cancelled the Kimmage TDF in 2010.

Which makes it far more likely that wiggins was in the wrong here not Benson.

Your imagination is getting the best of you. This is what Benson said:

So what did he ask for? I'm still betting that the editor of this minority website with a meeting point for doping enthusiasts is going to be a little lower on the food chain than the Guardian, for example.

I'm guessing that Benson is thinking he's a bigger player than he really is.

You're making less sense as you go. In the world of cycling, CN is hardly a "minority" website. If that were truly the case, why would Wiggo even care one way or the other if Benson was "supportive."?

It's pretty minority. The general public ignore it, beyond being a result and general report service. Most visitors have their own views already.

Now Benson may think he's an anti-doping crusader, but his interviews are from people that no-one else is bothered by. Jakshe & Frei have contributed.; Armstrong is now a favoured voice. Benson has made is editorial choice, so stop *****ing

Not doped. If everyone did that we'd be fine.

What has your god Kimmage done? I'll give him the Landis interview, which was a long time after the main action. As far as I can see he just repeated Walsh's work. Show me an original piece. The only doper he exposed was himself.

Sky gave ten weeks to Batman. Why give a few hours to Robin?

So you didn't read it then. It was the "culture" that he exposed.

Unless you're attempting to insinuate that Kimmage portrayed himself as the lone doper in a sport gone good.

So what is the original piece? If you mean Rough Ride - that's from 25 years ago. It exposed Kimmage as a doper. What have we had since that is original?

Kimmage and his friends portray him as a great investigative journalist. So what has he written other than exposing his own doping and repeating Walsh's work.

He has done nothing. Emperor's new clothes.

Digger is his greatest fan. So, Digger, point to his greatest contribution anti-doping (except Landis which was placed on his lap)
