I think this case Kimmage ./. UCI will lead to nothing, he can´t be successful, UCI are not stupid, they likely have done everything in the past to make sure there is no evidence for anything. In court, evidence is what is needed, and Kimmage doesn´t have more than speculation, hearsays and so on.

OK, it rises pressure on "McVerbruggen", but if they stand together, and UCI commitees do so, Kimmage won´t influence UCI internal things.

It is not hearsay if witnesses are stepping forward to detail information they have passed on to the UCI about doping that was ignored.

UCI are not a wealthy organization as pleaded in the past by Pat (in welcoming Armstrong's "donations").

UCI have been established as a not for profit operation with the substantial shortfall in receipts being funded by national federations. The UCI Congress will not be happy campers to find they may be requested to lift their contributions to attempt to legally protect Hein & Pat's exposed misconduct.

Interesting move by Kimmage. Don't know about Swiss law but in other jurisdictions of the world criminal prosecutions are commenced by "law enforcers". The State wears the cost of the investigations and prosecution.

This action may be a preamble and igniter for the Swiss authorities to take over proceedings.

I expect UCI will be rushing to get Kimmage et al into mediation to settle.

Now, you might ask yourselves . . . Why did the UCI "suspend" their lawsuit, rather than dismissing it?

Seems to me, it had to be because McBruggen were pressing for the lawsuit to continue.

Now they get this. McBruggen might eagerly wish to play 'chicken' with Kimmage, but any SANE people at the UCI have to see this as an endless public relations nightmare.

So much for "suspension." Kimmage is telling the filthy UCI: "It's suspended when I say it's suspended, beaches."

McBruggen really ought to get out their checkbook now, while it's cheap.

Way to go, Kimmage! Massive retaliation!

Hein and Pat may want to contact their travel agent to get an advanced booking for their next destination.

In particular, they may be interested in a 2006 U.S. government report that observes Swiss prison conditions generally meet international standards, but prison overcrowding is a problem.

Don't forget to leave a little room for Lance once you get there!

Dave.

Interesting how Lemond isn't listed...

Did GL ever bring doping examples of other riders to the attention of UCI for their action?

I would believe the listing of former riders who have either joined or are assisting PK in this endeavor fall into this category.

That´s the question...

Kimmage must be crazy, he has the wrong advisors apparently. His lawyer says "Sue!", wants to make money, his friends say "Sue" to have public attention, but no chance for Kimmage against the legal and financial power of UCI.
Now 85.000 is rather low, hope he won´t be ruined.

"Contingency", look it up. Get familiar with it. Make posts that reflect reality.

Interesting story my sibling.

Kimmage is not suing UCI. He is suing Verbruggen and McQuaid.

Big big difference.

Will UCI pay for the lawyers? Will they be allowed?

and balls! :p

you're confusing the UCI with Lance. :D

So, amazing. I've seen Python express that he wanted 3 things from the Armstrong investigation, which I agreed with, the third being change at the UCI. I feel like this what needs to happen to pry the seized, greedy, gnarly hands of McQuaid and Verbruggen off the windpipe of international cycling.

I just hope that we don't see all kinds of new WorldTour events in all corners of the world next year to fund UCI's legal fund.

yeah, thought so too.

perhaps the absence of Jaksche's name is more or less surprising, meaning, it would have been nice to see his name on there.

Yep. That's going to be awkward for the UCI. Defend Hein and Pat and it's another PR disaster. If Hein and Pat lose, that's a disaster too.

The UCI voted for them, and keeps voting for them. No way they keep keep clear of this mess. The cycling world has stuck with business as usual, thinking they could do whatever they wanted and it was never going to catch up with them. Time's up!
