ahh thanks for the direction - the jokes about Aaron Brown were really useful

All very quiet about the theft....Kimmage is making a Rough Ride Documentary,..asks one of the best questions in years to Brailsford about Boassen Hagen and Froome....and the next day all his research and laptops are stolen.

Not rocket science.

Yeah, once you get his previous it appears highly likely that that money's gone for good. Someone should do a psychological profile on him.Never got a sense that he actually loved cycling.

Right after Joe's piece came out in Bicycling, I got a call, out of the blue, from a former close friend of Aaron's back in Alberta (who had also been financially burned by him) who says that up until AB moved from Alberta to Nova Scotia in 2007 or so, he never heard AB ever talk about cycling, the guy never saw a bike at AB's house, there was no cycling memorabilia, nothing. According to this friend, AB was "a chubby chain smoking lumber salesman."

And according to Aaron's ex-wife, with whom I've also spoken, he could barely ride a bike the whole time they were married (from the time they were both 22 until he dumped her and their two kids in 2007).

So this notion that he was a "former avid cyclist," "a former elite racer" (which is what he told me, that he was a crack sprinter), or even a marginal Cat 4 or 5 racer is absolutely laughable.

Even for a Paulbot groupie that is a little over the top.
Just as likely they sold them for cash and bought new
ones with the insurance money. Very telling that none
of the film footage of PK asking "the best question in
years" went missing. It's expensive having a film crew
following you around France, they ran a little short of
cash and did what they had to do to finish the film on
budget and on time for the fall film festival circuit.

Someone else replied to it though.

And I deleted the response to RR by request from others. Some things happened last week, and I don't know the result of the incident, but I can say that Mr. Brown might indeed be put in a spot to answer for his actions.

Where did all the Aaron Brown stuff go?

Yea, nobody thought it was true and some thought only the good guys win but in the end the money is as gone as last weeks lunch never to be seen again.

Remember you can't sue someone for money that was blindly given away for some vague cause which was never really detailed other than in hearsay and then luckily happened to use someone's else's SSN as the registrar of said fund. They (IRS) go after the registrar of said money, not the guy who swindled it from the registrar, especially when they are not from the originating country and have even fled that country. IRS only goes after the easy pickings, as in said registrar who's still at the original address not on wild goose chases, but does make for a fun story.

And boy did things go craptastic for the registrar.

My gut feeling tells me the "money is gone" scam goes a bit deeper than Brown shifting the cash to Girona all by himself. Any updates?

Then your gut is ignorant. Don't post about things you know nothing about.
