Kreuziger underwent exams at the Mayo Clinic which allegedly prove that he indeed has hypothyroidism or whatever that was and that indeed his BP values are not neccessarily due to doping.
Iban approves!

To be fair, he got sick. And execpt that, he haven't been training for GT's (climbing/TT), but more hilly terrian for the ardenners. And he was very good there.

But it's a shame that Contador will never have Kreuziger 2013 Tour again as his super dom.

I saw this actual scene in ER,

Patient - I have terrible pain in my back and a bad headache. Can you prescribe me something?

Doctor - there is nothing showing up in the lab work.

Patient gets restless starts to get unruly

Doctor - we'll put you on a morphine drip

Patient smiles

It is that easy to get what you want. Invent a bunch of non-specific symptoms for a medical condition that is not directly testable and lead the good doc to a diagnosis to get you out of their office. We could easily come up with hypothyroidism symptoms like that.

It is relatively easy to get a diagnosis of hypothyroidism from over training and lack of rest.

The symptoms are quite devastating. Chronic fatigue, hair loss, weight gain, bitchy ollox,

leathery skin etc. etc.

Recovery is possible if training ceases, but a total cessation makes the symptoms worse

and in fact, very light training will lead to an improvement. It can also affect the mind

and mimics bi-polar, high-low, no sleep, then loads of sleep, lasts months and then clears

with the spring and the bull is back by summer.

Seen as so many cyclists, even pros. overtrain, it is likely to be true.

A&E informed me that cyclists are some of the worst for overdoing it

and the least likely to listen to advice.

It's not training if you turn the power meter off ;-)

I certainly was not arguing that the Mayo Clinic visit in any way strengthens Kreuziger's case. From my point of view it's just about as relevant as his polygraph test...

Truly brilliant that Cookson chose to change policy during the case so that Kreuziger as the first ever was suspended before he was sanctioned and missed the Vuelta last year because of that.

Wow, I did not see that coming but nothing can surprise me anymore these days. Another lost opportunity for clean cycling ...

Astana cleared.

Kreuziger cleared.

Bertie winning the Giro without any competitive teammates.

What are the odds soon to be Froomedad will win the Tour?

Carpet sweeping continues. Don't get me wrong I am glad he can race. Its the UCI pretending that they can really do some think when for the most time they have the ignore button on and the keep the sponsors happy button on. There's the money though so you can't blame them? I just wish they would stop pretending just like the chief executive of Wada who seems to know nothing about micro dosing

I am pleased for Bertie. At least he will now have some company once the going gets tough.
