They knew what they were signing for. Bottles and second-hand hookers.

Well, it would only be half as sloppy with him, so I guess it isn't so bad...

...sloppy seconds does not a good teammate make...

I think with...ahem.... ladies of ill repute....one must have already given up the thought that you AREN'T getting seconds, thirds fourths or fifths but much worse. Although many of these entanglements typically begin with consumption of a fifth. Coincidence? I think not.

worst part about lance is he is still flanked by domestiques.

yeah he rolled in with janez this time. they should be helping levi who has some chance. la's ego/vanity is making the situation worse than it has to be. hard to watch.

Why is Armstrong looking at trying to win a stage when his teammate is fighting to get on the podium?

You'll need to ask Vino. As for Lance, I am disappointed in his effort. He does not seem to be riding like his message.

On the bright side, we now all know what it would have been like if he was clean from '99 to '05: America's Top 40.

Nah, he's right where he wanted to be. 36th. Just like in 1995. He's making a statement, folks!

Very appropriate bookends to his TDF career and absolutely indicative of his true grand tour talent.

Another pointless Armstrong thread. What are people going to write about next year ? I would have thought he might be conserving himself for the next important stages like tonight. What is 5 minutes at this stage of the race for Armstrong. I don't think Leipheimer will be there at the end anyway, although it would be interesting if he was, with his time trialling ability. The race is far from over for the top 10. Today's stage should kill off the chance's of a few more contenders.

I would however suggest that Bottle might feel a bit of sting from the fact that he isn't getting any support. Someone wrote something here recently about Horner making a comment about not burying himself for an 8th place rider. If that is true, Bottle would have every right to feel slighted as he has ridden a good race for him. Not good enough for a podium, but he has put in some effort for RS. Funny too is the fact that P&P and that dumba$$ Bob Roll rarely if ever mention him. Could also have to do with the fact that the camera rarely if ever searches him out. Anyway, the guy has all of the personality of melba toast, so its no wonder nobody notices him.

Levi has all the support he needs. I paid the 30$ to get tour tracker and I watch the stages, the critical parts. Just watch those stages over and over. You will see Levi is sheltered at all times. Saxo drives the pace and Levi tucks in. He is relaxed no stress there for Levi. He is riding like Menchov.
If you want to watch without the commercials you gotta pay. For me money well spent and I do not need to subject my kids and wife to cable or dish. If you hate Roll that is your issue.

I just want to point that the Shack team i should be the AARP team - every member of the team is over 30 except for Brajkovic. The thought that they could actually compete in any meaningful way in the tour is preposterous. They may be doing well in the team competition but the Pyrennes with take care of that. They are just too old as a team to do well in a Grand Tour. If it was Lance, Levi and a bunch of young guys between 22 and 28 then I would expect more from them. As it is I'm surprised that they are competitive at all.

For whatever reason the team has decided that helping Leipheimer finish in seventh or eigth place is not a worthy goal, so they are now targeting the team classification. Horner here gives a blow-by-blow of the team trying to keep ahead of Caisse.

It appears the team is really tired.

Reading that entry in Horner's blog is a bit trippy. They seem to be riding in a TdF in a parallel universe.

It is too bad that the coverage does not show a lot of this. The battle between RS and Caisse would be very interesting if we could see more of it.

We need lipstick cameras on a lot of the riders.

We shall see how the team does in the next 4 days.

At least Kloden, Horner, Levi, and Janez were in the main group today.

I don't buy it that others are "saving" themselves for harder stages.

Look at the finishing results of the domestiques on each stage. There is a pattern there pardner. It is called team tactics in cycling. Stage race/not a classic or one day national championship race. Phil and Paul and Bob really do need to participate on this forum to let people here no what time it is.
