Neil Browne: At this point, no, no physical proof. It's just he said-he said. However, he suspects and hopes that other people will come forward and back up his claim and he's fairlyy confident that will happen.

Neil: Why did he send an email instead of using lawyers to send the confession? That would be protected information. By sending an email it gives the impression he wanted it leaked.

Thursday May 20, 2010 2:05 Griz Gal
2:06 Ariel Helwani: Neil Browne: Basically because he can't afford lawyers. And also because he wanted this to be settled privately without a third party.

Interesting. So who would have interest in leaking this now other than Landis?

Only FL would seem to have a stake in that letter hitting the press. Apparently, there is more than just one out there. So it wasn't a fluke.

When did Lance get the power to have someones medical license revoked???

It is consistent with some of the other weakass bullying tactics we have read about.

My point here was not that...it was that Woods had been known way beforehand what a scumbag he was by various mags...they agreed to not let the cat out of the bag if he did covers...men's health was one...my point is the media will play this for their own interest...hey, I hope you're right...but my feeling is that this is going away and real fast unless someone else comes forward...

...and Armstrongs is known as a 'scumbag'.

But now his very essence - his sporting ability - is being questioned. And its not some far away 'tabloid', his past has come back to haunt him on his own doorstep.

It won't be the doping that will floor him - its the bribing officials.

And what will kill his legacy and image is when he made statements like this on his return
"The constituency that I represent,” he says, “is now cancer survivors.'

Why name names if the goal was to help USADA crack down on doping by telling them how it's done and how cyclists get away with it? Thursday May 20, 2010 2:14 Pam

2:14 Neil Browne: Floyd wanted amnesty for the rest of these guys because the truth will eventually come out. He wanted amnesty upfront for these guys.

Pat Mc Quaid is on Irish radio at the moment, re the positive test he says at the time IOC and the national federation would have been notified of any positives so he is questioning how the test would have been hidden.
'Lance Armstrong has never tested positive'
'No proof'
'chip on his shoulder'

Neil, so where does that leave us? Riders are still being caught on a daily basis and dopers seem to be able to stay one step ahead of the testers. Thursday May 20, 2010 2:15 JT

2:15 Ariel Helwani: Neil Browne: For me personally, I'm waiting to see if the other shoe drops. Will someone else step up and say I was there with Landis and this is true.

that is what needs to happen for this situation to have legs. Someone with credibility to substantiate all these claims.

Can you explain the Dr. Kay connection? How could lance revoke his liscence? Thursday May 20, 2010 2:17 Andrew from Chicago

2:17 Ariel Helwani: Neil Browne: Lance laughed about how Armstrong claimed to be able to do that.

I assume he means "Floyd laughed..."?

Is Floyd done as a professional cyclist? Thursday May 20, 2010 2:17 JT

2:17 Ariel Helwani: Neil Browne: When I spoke to him today, he said he was done with cycling. Don't know if it was a flippant remark or what

certainly hope you are right...but I doubt it as just which official is going to look into this? Fat Mcquaid is already out there bull****ting and sliming and the media will follow...again tho, I hope you are right and I am wrong...

Isn't it rather foolish for him to think he could secure amnesty for these guys? Thursday May 20, 2010 2:19 Joe

2:19 Ariel Helwani: Neil Browne: You know what, I've seen and heard stranger things in this sport. So, no.

No need to mention the photos now. In fact don’t mention the photos. These are for the court case or if and when Landis is about to hang.

if there are any photos, Armstrong's attorneys (and attorneys for anyone else being accused) will have those photos as soon as the legal precedings begin - with sufficient time to respond.

Fascinating that a lot of LA fans and supporters aren’t coming out saying it isn’t true and the truth will prove Lance clean, as much as they are saying Floyd is a liar with no credibility, and this will blow over and people won’t believe him.

Alpe, I must stress once again that you do not have to be a lance fan to follow that line of reasoning. Floyd is a liar without credibility and that's hurting the case a lot. Now if Betsy didn't dent Lance, it's not far fetched to see this come to nothing.

So far, this, and most other places are showing a lot of people believe him.

Only the people who don't know cycling would think lance is clean. If this is enough to sway the public? I'm still doubting it. The feeding frenzy of the press will pass/will be spinned.

And about arrest warrants from France; there's no case yet. Even though I believe Lance is very guilty here, I'm actually happy that people don't get arrested because someone else simply accuses them. It would be a scary Europe if we took that road...

I'm sure the french will turn his bus upside down if he dares to ride the TdF (is allowed!), but right now, that' about it.

Did he give any reason for why he blew all his money on a fight he was never going to win even if he was innocent, which he wasn't. Thursday May 20, 2010 2:19 Brett

2:20 Ariel Helwani: Neil Browne: He was fighting for his job, his livelihood--that's what he does. He had no Plan B. It wasn't like he could now decide to be an engineer.

If he was really concerned with amnesty, why did he even make the statemnents alluding to the statute of limitations running out soon (he mentions June). This simply does not jive. If you are looking for amnesty then why not simply wait until the time period expires?? Thursday May 20, 2010 2:21 Rick

2:22 Ariel Helwani: Neil Browne: I don't know. There's a certain degree of amnesty, but other places have samples. He didn't want a Valverde situation.
