If you have read any of my posts. I'm not even saying that Landis is lying, though he obviously has no credibility. I'm arguing that this was a normal part of cycling at the time and we should understand that it was a different era. It's time to listen to Landis - who cites the haters as why more riders are scared to talk about it -and have a more sophisticated approach. Have you not heard him talk about this and say he is not ashamed of doping?

considering that's meant to be your first post, care to share other aliases?

lemond speaks on his blog

I believe most of Floyd Landis’s statements regarding the systemic corruption in professional cycling. I imagine from my own experiences that today he is paying a heavy price for his honesty and I support Floyd in his attempt to free himself from his past. I hope that others- fans, riders and sponsor’s embrace this as an opportunity to bring about positive change in the sport

You go Greg Lemond! That's pretty darned nice for a guy who got the phone call from Will Goegheaghan (spelling) to look beyond that and come out in support like this.

The mods don't like anyone spoiling the party. They only want people who say Lance never doped so they can laugh at them and pretend to be superior.

If you argue for a more sophisticated and mature approach to the medical programmes needed for GC in that era, they f**king hate it and ban you.

it begs the question, who decides what is true ?

All this explains in a lot more resolution why Armstrong was so ****ed at Landis for leaving the team.

Basically, they trained him how to win. How to dope at the highest level. He then took this info and planned to use it against them. In the world of legal methods and training, they'd have had a no-compete clause. In the world of cheating and potentially criminal activity, it's a skinny-man-in-tights turf war.

There lies the possible reason that Floyd inexplicably failed a test, having dishonoured his previous team and their hopes for continuing the Pance I got dominance of the previous thousand or so years.

Why don't you mods give up banning this dude, let him resume whichever of his handles he prefers and deal with all the parties that get involved in the garbage that surrounds him. He's got you beat on keeping him out, and all you do is keep anyone from putting him on ignore or whatever they do to not be bothered by his posts.

That would be sad for the fans of the sport. Most people like to see riders race.

Yeah they do but I'm sure if Armstrong never rides again, people will still turn up and stand roadside at races, if you look back at old photos from the 20's and 30's there were people at the roadside back then Armstrong didn't invent that. Yes Armstrong may've got a few extra Americans to go to that race in July but if he never became a pro, there would still be a million plus people on Alpe d'huez(including what seems like the entire population of the Netherlands), when all is said and done he'll just be a small footnote in the history of cycling.

You got to think that positive test on whats he's name Fyu Byui from Radioshack was a damage control method to prove that Lance team-mates do test positive? ie they knew the Landis story was coming so they suckerpunched the guy in.....

Well to be fair, they did eventally try that for a week. It was going well until yesterday but I posted a few too many times for their liking so the regulars all got together and got the mods to ban me. They particularly don't like it when I call them on trolling.

Then this thing blew up where they certainly don't want me around.

I'll probably be allowed back when things call off, but I can hardly wait it out whilst this is going on.

That sounds like a real stretch, even for this forum. The Landis story has been percolating for some time and waited for the best moment to boil over. That doesn't enhance Floyd's credibility in my mind. It seems like a tell-all book set up. Hopefully WADA and USADA comes in fast before all the associated vermin can hide. There's plenty of blame to go around.

``It's unfortunate the past keeps getting dug up over and over again,'' Vande Velde said. ``It wipes away all the hard work we have been doing over the last years trying to clean up the sport and being transparent, when things that happened eight years ago keep being brought up.''

I asked Vande Velde how much credence anyone could give to Landis' allegations and confession to having been a big-time doper, given that he had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in denying he had used performance-enhancing drugs after the positive test at the 2006 Tour.

``You're not going to believe too much of it, that's for sure,'' Vande Velde said. ``It has been a long stream of lies. I'd like to say I was surprised, but nothing about Floyd surprises me any more.''

Of course people will still follow the sport, but many people want to see Armstrong race this year whilst he can still just about do it. I want to see this.

Why should a bunch of haters decide for me and everybody who is allowed to race? They're really selfish - they just don't care about the fans as long as they get their pound of flesh.

holding a contrary opinion should be no reason for banning; insulting others or making personal attacks, should.

Mods like Alpe d'huez have the same views as the Armstrong trolls, so it's a dead end. They don't like my humour either, but they love all the troll pictures.

It's no mistake that the Landis letter was leaked to this site, in my view.

I think you might want to consider what forums like this really are. It is a form of entertainment. there is no journalistic moral code here. This is the last bastion where people can be stupid and not held accountable for posting the first thing that comes to mind. It is genius.

In other words you might be better served monitoring your reactions to things people say than what it is you think they said and what you think their intent is

all in the game

Just watching the press conference - jesus, poor little Lance - doesn't he feel just a teensy weensy bit queasy doing this victim ****.

Now, listen to McQuaid on the radio show stating that they received a donation in 2005. This http://www.scribd.com/doc/16226502/Lance-Armstrong-Doping-History has Armstrong stating in 2005, UNDER OATH at the SCA hearing, that he gave a donation several years earlier. Then at the press conference, he says 'absolutely not' when asked if he's ever made a donation to the UCI - lies, damned lies and absolutely no credibility. He'll need to get that story straight with Pat Mc****. BTW hope he still has the recipt for that blood spinner

as some one who has paid a lot of money to go to the tour de france for the last five years, and who has already paid a lot of money for the hotel, travel etc to paris again this year, my holiday will be so much better if i dont have to stand on the champs elysees and listen to people who know nothing about cycling cheer on lance. the same goes for valverde.

it also means we dont have to put up with the lance armstrong fanclub demanding they get 200 metres of railing to put there armchairs against to watch the race.

No armstrong.. much better holiday.. Are you spending money going to watch the tour this year?

is that supposed to be supportive of the stance that he telling the truth or that he is lying? It just seems you really believe Lance is a massive doper yet the way I read CVV comments, I got the impression that he doesn't believe Floyd. So props to you if you posted this objectively.

I believe the donation in question was to WADA, but Armstrong knew, when asked, what the reporter meant.

Also, Armstrong stated at that same TOC press conference that Landis' time line was off. Can any confirm this? I read the e-mails and the dates -- year-wise -- seemed correct to me. When Armstrong makes these types of statements people generally believe them despite the fact that they are incorrect. "Most tested athlete," for example.

Well regarding that race in France in July it will be the ASO who'll decide, I'm sure they'd like it if the 'Shack didn't turn up, but they maybe bound by the PT thing.
