I finally went to bed at five this morning, and am just catching up. Hincapie's statement was true, but he didn't deny allegations, that was done by the team. I just saw Armstrong's statement in brief, but he just maligned his attacker, as per usual, said he didn't want to waste people's time, etc.
McQuaid just made it more obvious that the UCI should not oversee testing or the Biological Passport. It's a total conflict of interest if he thinks exposing dopers is bad for cycling. Hell, we were celebrating here last night like we'd just gotten news that the war had turned in our favor.
And this isn't just about Lance. I was rooting for Hincapie during the Tour last year. But if he doped, I'm damned glad it's coming out.
Some discussion in the LA thread got me to check his twitter a few weeks ago. He had a kids party at his house on a Friday night & complained that the USADA showed up looking for blood and urine. At the time, I wondered if it was at the request of the AFLD, who when they signed the agreement to work with law enforcement to fight doping rings, said that they'd ask agencies in other countries to get them samples.
It's time for the AFLD & OCLAESP to pick up the ball & run with it. Get some DNA samples to go with the illegal infusion kit syringes, bust Armstrong and other Radio Shack riders, and make this international so they can start questioning people under oath.
