No snowbanks to crash into, what can possibly go wrong?
I imagine having a snow bank to crash into would be more pleasant than crashing and falling down the road side.
Even worse would be to get flatted by a giant falling boulder.

Bad move from Kruijswijk, the key is to stay in as big number as possible in the valley.
no, let him do it. Who cares, everybody always complains about boring blabla.

Let him attack and see where it ends. Probably in tragedy, but at least he is trying and Sky has to do something. If it works its heroic, if it doesn't work then all he loses is a top 10.

I fully agree! I am really glad someone tries anything instead of staying with the skytrain.

If Kruiswijk has 5 minutes at the top of Croix I don't think the peloton will catch him.

Its still so far, together with a nasty valley. Dont get your hopes up.

Yeah Sieberg was with Greipel so it might have been him who abandoned.

Back of the race would now be Pozzovivo, Taaramae, Gaviria and Richeze at 18:23
At this speed Gaviria and Richeze can be 30 minutes back at the top of Croix de Fer and that would not look very promising for them to make it in time. And just now the Live Tracker showing that Richeze left Gaviria behind!

6 out today by my reckoning if you count Uran as well. 5 DNF, 1 DNS.

This tdf reminds me of a spooky hospice where
every one looks injured or ill
those that go critical are not only out the back
but also leave the show.
Only the weightless wraiths are left standing.

He only has to get round turn 7. If he leads there, the road will be covered in camper vans the second he goes past. He can the take his time going up the rest of the mountain.

On the sporza they just said tailwind in the valley and mostly tailwind on the alpe.

Sprinters quitting an masse. Gaviria quits as well...

This attack reminds me so much of Michael Rasmussen back in the days.

What the hell are Sky doing?

Riding steady pace, they should up it. Maybe Thomas pr Froome is feeling bad

Soon time for the MJ to get to work? :D

Ofc, it might all come to nothing in the end, but can't say Sky is in complete control atm. If this persists he'll crest with 7-8 mins!

My guess is that they are riding a steady pace to get six riders over the Croix de Fer together. A pretty big gamble, if that is the case.
