First weakening Sky as a team, then attack on the Alpe.
If Froome is weaker today, this would make sense. You don't attack now, then allow 4-5 Sky's to close the gap again in the valley.

Because they were embarrassed by Sky yesterday and their DS has told them to go out and look to be doing something today. So they are sending men up the road and then chasing them down like idiots.

Time gap between Steven and peloton frozen at 6’02” for quite a while. That can’t be true with the upped pace in the peloton
