not on the California squad, but it was to be expected, that CZ newspaper article says he's still training and recovering
we'll have to see him back in Monaco and then we see when he'll race again
Actually it says he's training somehow - i.e. lifting weights or so...but not "full cycling training".

It's also fair to say though that he is very unlikely to get many opportunities to lead at Sky. Particularly as he has never been the kind of rider to perform at a high level in many races throughout the year, which is how Sky riders move up the pecking order. Without wins or regular very strong domestique performances, he won't be given the roles fought over by riders who show their strength often in other races. Sky don't indulge riders who base their whole season on a GT minor placing.

That's not entirely correct. How many times did landa show results or strong domestique performances before sky gave him full leadership for the giro? None. He has 1 good result in a GT while ridding for another team.

Landa came in near the top of the pecking order. He was hired to lead a GC, based on a single performance that rightly or wrongly led them to believe that he can win a GC. He's actually quite an interesting exception to the Sky way of doing things. Everybody else, whether from within the team or a new signing, has had to do the business at Sky to move up the ladder and be guaranteed GC leadership for a GT.

If Landa has a bad year it will be interesting to see if he ends up back in the scrum with everyone else not named Froome. I don't think we'll get the chance to find out though.

As for Konig, there is some chance that a non-existent first half of the season lets him get in great form for the post-Tour part of the season. Maybe Froome decides not to bother with the Vuelta, maybe the other big name domestiques are out of form or just exhausted, and then he gets a chance. But really, I just hope he gets out of Sky and goes to another team where he can get more opportunities.
I think König even said something in that sense, that he's going to Sky just to learn. But I am not entirely sure my memory doesn't decieve me :) Given the circumstances he's now possibly moving down so called pecking order, where he was reasonably high before season given promised back up or co leader for Giro (who else has promised something like that? Don't give me anyone Dbotero nonsense (trolling?) with Henao, Roche, Poels, Kennaugh, Nieve again, they were never in front of König for GTs, leveled with him at best. Poels showed in good light this spring - whether or not he can bring it fot GTs is question though. As we could see even this spring where undooubtedly he was probably in form of his life he still managed to duck up two of the three stage races where he was given leadership. So it would be no wonder if he moves on.

Sorry for that. Anyway, this isn't anti-König fan club either. What posters do you have on your mind except for you?

It's strange that his injury allows him to race for the next 5 days finishing in the top-10 of the race (with an easy MTF and a brutal hill called Xorret de Cati along the way) but don't allow him to race for the next 3 months and counting.

It's known what the injury was for certain?

Sorry for not jumping in the Konig bandwagon but this doesn't make me"anti-Konig".

Sky seems to avoid the subject.I don't remember reading anything about his injury on their site/twitter.There was a post of Konig on twitter about him recovering from an injury sustained in Valenciana at some Spa and missing South Africa camp and that's it.

Ok, no anti-fan then. But anyway I don't see why distort things either.

This...ok, I accept I deserve moralizing for how I reacted on Jancouver. But if I deserve moralizing, I think the other deserves that too. I don't like injustice, surprisingly. Did you look up with what it begin? Did that look friendly and not agressive to you?

Maybe he would have won if not for the injury, who knows. Some injuries have longer term consequences which can be worse then acute injury, that can be this case. He has periosteal haematoma. According to literature it can take many weeks to months to resolve.

Hahaha, well, I would argue this may be the case only if you are a TLMRP fan or if we are talking TDU in January. Other than that, I can't recall any heated debate with anyone on other topics.

Its just the blindfolded Aussie fans that are unwilling to hear an opinion on their race/hero.

No answer? Ok, so much for you DBotero. Some are agressive openly in reaction to someone, some are agressive passively and that's your case.
P.S. maybe you aren't anti-König knowingly, but your posts a communication speak for itself. It' wasn't about not jumping on König bandwagon, it was about you posting clear biased nonsense what revealed you.

No offence to anyone but this thread is becoming very odd.

Haha, what did you expect? When such a uninteresting rider gets his own thread.

I think that is the case when someone are too biased and passionated about their favourite riders. It also happens quite a bit in some other thread on this forum

Yes, but the extra problem here is, that nothing ever happens, no information is available, when he races, he gets as much attention as Haimar Zubeldia, so there's plenty of room for personal discussions and disagreements

WOW, agressive passivity, what's next - terrorizing lurking?
Never heard about someone acting passively agressive? :)

Being fanboy is one think and being biased other and I suspect "truth" lies in the eye of beholder. My "truth" looks this way: you were quick to moralize me but never cared how it began and why I reacted this way not even when I bid you. You began with talking fan club but couldn't handle being called anti-fan. Don't get it. Btw. calling Jancouver had nothing to do with König actually, but you would have to try to find it out.

Anyway I am not really fanboy of König, I critised him more then once actually and in past and I spoke openly about that despite most didn't agree with me.

Doch, but I find it total hysterical from you, let us rather talk about cycling ;)
