attempts to forget these races are WT hadn't been in vein it seems
In fairness to RideLondon, it's usually more selective and interesting than the parcours gives it any right to be.

However, the fact the men get this fairly interesting out - hilly loop - back course and the women ride a 90 minute crit which somehow still gets to be a WT event is just flat out bad, when a much better alternative would be so easy to organize. A female hobby cyclist can go out there and ride the more interesting course, why can't the best in the world?

Anyways, a slight shame it comes before August 1st this year, I seem to recall this was Fernando Gaviria's first race day as a stagiare at OPQS a couple of years back, when we all thought he was a sprinter and nothing but a sprinter following his breakout at the Tour de San Luis, and he basically announced he was going to be big in one day.

Bit of a flop by Sky. Instead of keeping a tempo for Viviani to win from a bunch sprint, they drilled it on the front for Kennaugh to attack, but he brought Trentin and Impey with him.

Edit: Yes, okay, as a team pursuiter he may attack from 2-3km and win solo from that trio, but it must have been obvious he might bring guys who could outsprint him.

For those not watching, Stuyven, Trentin and Impey have 15" with 16km to go, with a flat run-in and the peloton not working cohesively.

Trentin and Impey have been out for 10s of kms without food or water and are suffering.

16" for Stuyven and Trentin with 8.5km to go.

There's a big tailwind and the peloton still isn't working properly.

I mean at the end the peloton caught the group but still you have to wonder what they were thinking. Teams like Orica had whole leadout trains but instead of sending one or two riders to the front of the peloton they rather took the huge risk giving the win to the break.

Also, Kristoff is an absolute monster in WT races which don't deserve that status. :D
