As always, Tro Bro delivers a lot. What an exciting finale. Gotta love those Coupe de France/Napoleons Game Cup rounds better than some WT "classics".

Gaudin would have probably won if not for the crash. He was dropped by the group lots of times but always came back and even dropped them, almost catching Laporte.
Great win by Laporte btw. And excellent race action, as always.

Re: Lesser Known Race Results 2018

He was part of a three man break with Antunes and Masnada, which had gained about 3 minutes on the peloton by the finish. Impressive.

http://www.cicloweb.it here the "streaming" of the Giro dell'Appennino, one of the fallen/former prestigious italian classics (but the organizers are not very smart holding the race the same day of Liege).
finish back to Genoa, Ciccone at the sprint over legendary Amaro Antunes and Masnada (androni)
Ciccone attacked with 64 km from the finish.

Amazing. First ever double victory for Ecuador in an UCI race in Europe?

Apparently there's a race called the Tour of Mesopotamia.
Aren't races usually named after current countries/regions?

But I'm looking forward to the Tour of the Holy Roman Empire.

Mesopotamia is, if I'm not mistaken, old Greek for "Land between the rivers", sometimes also named as "Land of two rivers" referring to Tigris and Euphrates. As far as I know the term is still used to describe the geographical region along the rivers reaching from the Persian Golf to southern Turkey. It never really was the name of a political structure.

You could argue that the Brixia Tour falls into that category.

Still, at least the entity to which they refer to has actually existed, it's not the Giro di Padania.

What a boring route for Madrid
Yea, this course is suckage. It was right to stop doing the Morcuera MTF, because it made everything else pointless, but it's not very inspiring.

César is good at this time of year because he's lost his leadership to Alarcón so he can't bank everything on August now.
