This really is a hard man's race.

Valgren, Wellens and Naesen left in the front now. Matthews and Stybar couldn't follow.

Yeah. Race in Plouay looks great. Valgren, Wellens and Naesen in the front. Hardmen like Stybar and Matthews just giving up the wheel in fatigue, as the trio rides away in the rain. Epic

Well, it went as we expected. Valgren should have tried an attack. Maybe Naesen would have looked to Wellens only to find out that he was dead with Valgren going up ahead. But ofcourse, trusting your sprint after 240 km's in this weather is also understandable. Congratulations to Naesen - how many double winners of this race are there? Is he the first since the race was made WT?

That was a sensational sprint by Naesen. And an edition that will be remembered. The uphill gravel road at 70km completely changed the race.

The minus is the lack of public. Plouay is no more a (full) circuit race, so it harms the general atmosphere.

yes and also the first non-french double winner. He can set a record if he wins another time.

Holy *** that sprint from Naesen :D what was that, 350-400m? What a monster.

Also hats off for Wellens. He was too spent to take pulls in the final 10k, and then decided to lead those guys out in the final k to show them respect for 'dragging' him to the finish instead of trying to screw them over.

It is a WT race. Top 3 are strong riders with great form.

I would've like to open a thread but I hadn't got time.

What saddens me the most is that last stage of Deutschland Tour had more coverage than this despite this edition being excellent.

Well ES in Denmark showed Avenir, Deutschland and Vuelta. Pretty busy schedule - would have preferred Bretagne over Avenir and Deutschland anyday tho,

Avenir was earlier, so no clashing there.
And then there was that post-match football discussion thing they kept showing on ES2...

 It took me a minute to realise that it wasn't Viviani pulling the peloton in the Brussels Cycling Classic but Barnabas Peak

I got a little confused too. Especially because I have the sound from the Vuelta, and having Quickstep and FDJ in the front of the peloton has been known to happen in the Vuelta too.

Ackermann on fire! Think Stuyven second, but haven't seen a confirmation.

Ackermann wins Brussels Cycling classic. No idea why Jakobsen just stopped pedalling before the sprint was launched.

It was Senechal and he was probably looking for Jakobsen after the crash.

Ah yes of course, in the chaos I missed that another Stepper came from behind and Jakobsen got held up.

So, four and a half months ago, Ackermann had never won a pro race.

Now he has won in six different countries.

Seems like Ackermann was the only sprinter that was able to properly sprint. :D

Démare had stupid tactics and AG2R pair of sprinters crashed unto each other.
