Saturday, March 13, 2010, 18:03pm | Own reporter
Moroccan Mouhcine Lahsan was crowned winner of the 1st International Cycling Tour of Mali, despite the stage victory of his compatriot Abdelati Saadoune Saturday in Bamako, the Malian capital.

Said first overall, Mouhcine Lahsan received his winner's jersey from the hands of Malian President Amadou Toumani Touré, who personally witnessed the arrival of the fifth and final stage on Independence Boulevard in Bamako.
After noting the good performance of Moroccan runners who have won all five stages of the Tour, the Malian President bowed to the talent of Mouhcine Lahsan. "I think (Mouhcine Lahsan) can now count myself among its fans," he said.

1st Tour du Mali attracted national teams from Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Morocco and Senegal, and three French teams and all teams in Mali.

Intended by its organizers as an event both sporting, cultural, tourism and awareness in the fight against AIDS, the race was conducted between the towns of Segou, Bla, San, Mopti, Bandiagara (center), Koutiala and Sikasso (south)

Seems like Lahsani is doing well although Jelloul is giving him a run for his money
El Ammouri doesn't really live up to the hype, only 5th!
