They might've banished Donovan from the World Tour but he will come back stronger than you can possibly imagine.

Timegaps have been a bit all over the place since the start of the broadcast tbh.

Looks like Fisher-Black falls off the podium on countback.

21k to go over in France, the remnants of the early break have half a minute left.

Poor Fisher-Black. Had Majka and Fisher-Black saved themselves a little and instead let Meintjes sail away, he would probably have hung on to the last podium spot.

Fisher-Black tried to follow the Donovan attack 200 metres below the summit of the final climb for no good reason, blew his legs and almost got dropped. That was the bigger factor in him getting gapped, I think. Oh, and the fiasco on the descent of Etna, of course.

Martinez should've waited for PInot right at the end there, not much chance of beating Lafay on that finish, gamble and try and make things a bit more chaotic.

Pinot wouldn't have outsprinted Lafay either. Martinez couldn't afford to be in last wheel into the final corner but that's exactly where he was, a bit of inexperience.

I doubt he knew how close Pinot actually was. Lafay also took a few pulls that made it harder for Martin to come back, though that didn't make a difference.

Despite not winning the overall, Fisher-Black did a great race, UAE have a huge depth of young talent.

Lutsenko was really strong today though right on time for the Ardennes.

Just watched the replay. This is one of those "Why isn't Lutsenko winning every race, in all terrains?" Although the field wasn't exactly full of pure climbers, he was still impressive. He's a hardman, throwback sort of rider -- flying to do Amstel Gold after this.

FFB tried hard, but even had UAE ridden perfectly he wasn't going to stay with Lutsenko or Meintjes.

Bravo Lafay, it was nice race, it's crazy to see what the pros do on La Malate and he punched it at the top. Costaud.

Tomorrow, for the first time ever, we'll see pros on Mont Poupet.
