Jonathan Restrepo won the returning Giro della Città Metropolitana di Reggio Calabria in a reduced sprint from a group of 11 attackers, ahead of German Tivani and Mirco Maestri, a nice present for Savio's 75th birthday.

Just saw the results of that low level Italian race. WTH did Bardiani do???

Also don't get why there weren't a few more WT teams with Tour of the Alps starting the day after.
Because Calabria is at the other end of the country from where TOTA is, so you'd still need to catch a flight to combine the two. Would be about as easy as doing Strade and Paris-Nice back to back.

Oh ok, not the smartest idea then to put that one day race on that spot no? Won't ever have a decent field then.

Putting it on Saturday just behind Sicilia would be better then no?

It is geographically very close to Sicilia, so the idea is obviously to have teams combine the two ( makes sense as these are basically the only pro races in southern Italy right now). However, I think that would work a lot better if it was raced the Sunday before Sicilia rather than the one after it.

The way the course was structured you needed to get as many riders over the final climb as possible with 40kms to finish - Jayco the only WT team only got two riders over the final climb, so had Colleoni trying to bring back attacks in the last 40km for Englehart who has a fast finish - Coolleoni did his job, howver Englehart stuffed up the sprint - In saying that there is no way Bardiani should lose that race with 6 riders in a group of 14.
