Roglic takes it all in the 2nd stage of Azerbijan.

1. Roglic
2. Mugerli a 34 s
3. Horner
4. Ockeloen

The rest almost lost 4 minutes.

Roglic is quite impressive this year, anyone who knows about his future road ambitions? (because he also is a ski jumper??)

Roglic is not competing in ski jumping any more, as far as i know. He certainly has a lot of talent, we should see him in a bigger team soon.

This was Roglic's second win (.1 or higher) as a pro. His 1st win was a year ago on exactly the same stage at the tour d' Azerbaidjan. This year he has good chance to hold onto the lead till the end. By the way, last year's winner of the race was some guy named Ilnur.

Gálviz over 1:30 behind Rujano , I'm not an expert but I've always thought that Gálviz was pretty decent in ITTs.

Controversy at the most important bike race of the international season, the An Post Ras. Yesterday, the first stage was won by ex OPQS rider Francesco Reda (Team Idea 2010 ASD), who is returning from a ban. He won from a two man attack in a superb ride. Today, he got himself disqualified, apparently for persistently holding on to his team car. Twitter reports suggest he was first warned to cut it out.

As a result, the other man in yesterday's attack, Lukas Postleberger (Tirol Cycling Team) inherits the yellow jersey. Today's stage was won by Aaron Gate, a young New Zealand rider with An Post Chain Reaction.

They are pretty dumb then. Its against the UCI to hild onto to cars/motos.

The whole thing is particularly bizarre because it's not as if they were going up Angliru. The stage ended in a mass sprint.

Re: Re:

Apparently the team manager, Alberto Elli, himself a man with an interesting past, has now pulled the whole Team Idea squad out of the Ras.

As an aside, reading about the row on twitter led me to an article about the 1992 Ras. Apparently that edition saw large scale cross team collaboration by a number of domestic riders on the final stage to do over a visiting Italian national squad and help an Irish rider to win the GC. This wasn't collaboration of the doing a few pulls sort, but instead seems to have escalated from concerted blocking in of the Italians to actual assaults. A shameful episode I'd never heard of before.

Now getting a bit heated between Irish and Italian cycling journalists on Twitter, with one or two of the Italians saying that Stickybottle and co mentioning clinic issues in their reports on Reda and Elli are engaged in tabloid behaviour, while some of the Irish ones are suggesting that their Italian colleagues are waving the national flag and acting as pr agents.

It turns out that the rumour that Team IDEA 2010 ISD were all being pulled out of the Ras by team management is false. However, Alberto Elli himself, the team DS was ejected from the race last night after making what are described as "further heated protests" to race officials last.

http://www.stickybottle.com/latest-news/italian-manager-elli-removed-from-ras-after-late-night-protest-turns-heated/

So Team IDEA took part today, down to four riders, minus their race leader and their DS. And promptly won stage 3! Their young sprinter Matteo Malucelli won a bunch sprint in the town of Bearna, taking his first ever pro win.

Happy to see "Rafita" wining in Japan. He is one of the most talented pro riders of the World.

It is a pity for these muslim people his problems of adaptation in Europe.

He is one of the more powerfull riders in numbers that were in the centre of suisse, as well Daniel Teklehaimanot and Crhis Froome.

Didier Chaparro 9th in stage 2 in the Tour of Japan yesterday. What do you think he can do the next years in the European peloton Ryo?
