As it is now the showdown lasts less than 5 km. Still better than the Ans sprint, but any move before RaF is dead I'm afraid (although it has to be said that we will have optimal conditions this Sunday for action before that, but I doubt it will be different to the action before Poggio).
You'd at least like it if someone would put the pressure on to split the field on the Redoute, but it would more than likely take too much effort, too early, for too little return.

La Redoute is too early to go solo, but a strong team could ride a high pace there to reduce the group to 10-20 riders. Jumbo and UAE are the best candidates to try that. DQSt would probably prefer a slow ascension of La Redoute to save Alaphilippe for the later climbs.

Last year Alaphilippe disappointed, but he was tired at the end of an impressive spring season. He could become the first winner in the rainbow jersey since Argentin, who came from behind the cars in 1987.

****Alaphilippe, Hirschi
***Roglic, Kwiatkowski
**Pogacar, Woods, Porte, A. Yates, Cosnefroy
*D. Martin, Wellens, Dumoulin, Schachmann, Barguil, Landa, Costa, Uran

I think your star rating for the race is spot on.

I take it all back
Apparently MVDP is riding too. You need to include him somewhere in there:)

The following riders, who did BinckBank are also on the start list for this race:

Laas, De Vreese, Martinelli, M. Pedersen, Kirsch, and M. Van Der Poel. I guess they're in the area...

Wait VDP is riding tomorrow? Well I guess today's 70km attack was not enough. We'll see.

you need a warm up ride for a such a long race.

Like Lombardia, I think it's as little too much, but with the form he has he might do a top 10. If he even recovered from whatever the *** today was

Yeah you thought that and then he was like the 10th best rider on freaking Muro di Sormano.
LBL is absolutely within his possibilities if he's in top shape. I doubt he will 100% recover from today's effort though.

Yes, I think RaF will be too steep for him at this point. Maybe next week he'll do GW instead of AGR?

Giro for G and Liege for Froome..could be a decent wrapup of the season, stripes for Ganna and late stinker for Jumbo Visma at the Tour. :D Don't shoot me for taking fairly neutral stance.
