Wow. Crackpot or loon? It's hard to decide.

I can only imagine the delusional letters that the ASO received about Shrek's chain mishap in 2010.

I'm no crackpot mate, if you believe somethings wrong why shouldn't you do something about it . Tell what your opinion's worth if you don't put it in a place where it can properly be taken notice of? Of cuorse you can spout your opinions here but what does that do?

My letter regarding the level crossings between Arc-et Senans and Besancon obviously had some effect - they've (ASO) added 4 kilometres to the course.

The only reason I didn't get replies to the letter re the Haussler incident is because they (UCI / Tour De Suisse Commissaires) want to appear to be unimpeachable. But that doesn't mean that I'm wrong to write or that the content of my letter is wrong.

Those who dispute what I've pointed out are deluding themselves or need to get their eyesight checked.

I don't find it hard to decide what i think you are - you're a plum.

You're to cycling commisaires what George Zimmerman is to 911 operators.

Don't be concerned by the 'sour grape bunch' on here mate, generally the thrust of their arguments are based on clutching at straws and jumping on technicalites, pointing out the irrelevant etc.. Small victories.. Love the way, repeatedly someone with a different view (often valid) is treated with incredulity. Just remember that the thread's called 'The Cav Deprecation Thread', that's enough to tell you enough about the mongs you'll be talking to. I think it's hilarious that someone will throw their toys out of the pram just because that someone believes it's a sprinters prerogative to battle a bit. Except it's not really that is it? Refer to the name of the thread again.. Should read 'Sour grape bunch **** thread'. ; )

Just about sums it up

Cav Deprecation Thread! C'mon show some respect for the Rainbow Jersey! ; )

We show him the amount of respect he has shown to Milan-San Remo, Dwars door Vlaanderen and Gent-Wevelgem.

Is that a royal 'We'? I really wonder if it's worth the effort with you sometimes.. As if Cav doesn't show respect to MSR! In G-W he's trying to bridge a gap on his own! Absolutely pointless arguing with such negativity. Cav should be revered for his positive attitude (this is lost on you), this is why he has the success he has, whilst not taking a blind bit of notice of 'forum people'.

You mean him saying he lost the race because someone left a gap on the descent of the Kemmelberg(even though Rojas made it to the front group and started the descent behind him). Is that the positive attitude you're talking about? Always blaming it on someone else?

The guy is a muppet.

Success in flat races, I don't care for those.

The guy is a winner. World Champ. Green Jersey holder. Be ashamed and show some respect.

Like I said, I don't care for any of his victories in flat races. The WC last year was a joke, proven again and again this year.

Exactly. The world RR course was a joke. It is shameful that someone who has never stuck his nose in the wind is prancing around in the world champ stripes.

Just remember that hmsgenoa is the one that posted to the effect of "the only people that aren't idiots are the ones that agree with me". So that part of your comment works both ways.

Again, hmsgenoa is the one who believes Haussler (who was "battling a bit" rather than "swinging reckless across the bunch") is the one that should bear the lion's share of the blame.

I respect Cavendish as a cyclist. And sometimes, as a human being (for example the way he's been for Jonny Bellis).

That doesn't mean that he shouldn't be called out when he acts like a berk, for the mistakes he makes, and for his complete and abject inability to accept responsibility for anything that doesn't go his way.

If the people in here who are critical of Cavendish are "throwing their toys out of the pram", then it's because they learnt from a master, and that master happens to be the subject of the thread.

It's actually what bike racing is all about.. conserving energy, using it when it matters, being Machiavellian. With the number of quality wins he pulls off in a season, I think it's fair dues that when he wins on a flat course he should be honoured. He's not in the same mould as Cancellara or Contador, but when he does win on a course that suits him, he should be respected. He wins so often, of course he's worthy.

Boonen did that to win Gent Wevelgem and I bet he'd take every single win like that for the rest of his career!

Dont remember seeing any of the of the podium from WRR stick their nose in the wind.

Crap course but cant blame Cavendish. Most of the other countries were quiet happy to be towed around by the Brits. What did they expect Cavendish to do at the end? At the least the Brit team did most of the work and got a reward for a change, whereas lots of times those that deserve it dont get it.

Dont currenlty see Cav prancing around more like struggling to hang in at the back of pelotons.

Cavendish is not afraid to call it as he sees it for which people take as bravdo and ego. He has also been schoole dnot to knock himslef as sponsors dont appreciate that.

He has won a MSR that is not flat. He finished a few TdFs so i would not knock his achievements just yet.

Everyone knows what Cavs abilities are and it is easy to take him out of the picture unless he is at his peak. He relies to much on his team mates and instead should be wiser to staying near the front and muscling his way to positions he wants to be.

He aint my favourite rider but he sure gets are hard time for very little. Cipollini was worse than Cavendish in most respects during his career. Even now with his crazy claims of being able to ride the Giro this year with no racing in his legs he is not getting the abuse Cavendish gets.

Sometimes at night I like to re-read the final 100 pages of the World Championships thread. It's brilliant.

No, Boonen actually likes racing. Gent-Wevelgem is his least favorite spring classic.

Well now that there is a BS statement. Are you implying Cav doesn't like 'racing'?

FFS. Ride to your strenghts and you win. Ride for fun and you dont. Simple.

You just have to look at how many riders dont ride to their stregths. Hello Rabobank, hello Hoogerland.

I like to watch Hoogerland race but he doesn't win anything, oh yeah he likes racing, just not to win. I dont think so.
