Is there some sort of change now, it looks like he's recovering both mental and physical side of things? Pics from LVV look like business time ahead. Fingers crossed.

His recent track performances show a bit of promise but I don't think he will reach a level near his best.

I hope so, he's looking good on track. Change of scenery could do him good.

He always seems buzzing at the start of a new chapter. I would love to see him take a couple of wins next season.

As did Haussler who top 3, least we saw Cav racing better signs than recent, finish ended up harder than we thought.

It wasn't like this was a flat finish or run in. With that and echelons last year he finished minutes back. He needs some race shape. I'm hoping for no crashes.

Cavendish's form is looking OK - The question is whether he can produce in the final if he is the chosen one.

Time to retire I think.

It's his first race back after injuries and illness when last year he was struggling to stay in the group. He is showing he is better and in track he was being competitive. We'll see on Stage 5 since that suits him more.

Hopefully what we saw in Saudi Tour today is an indication; that if he doesn't have what it takes to sprint himself, then he'll prove a good leadout.

there he is cheering in the background

I would think Bahrain are paying CAV alot more than a good leadout ...
Would think if he hasn't got it would be best to retire
You have a shelf life in sprinting...you make the best of that time and he has ..A superb palmares ...not good though to hang on and become a lead out man
Its like Chris Froome going past his top formand hanging on to become a climbing dom for Tao G Hart

If Cav isn't on a low base salary with decent bonuses in case he delivers then I have a few bridges to sell Bahrein Merida

Bahrain won't pay him a lot of money. Last year was just too bad. Hopefully he invested his money in a good way and he doesn't need a lot of money anymore :). He looks quite happy just riding his bike.

I'm sure he has plenty of money put away. He had to make millions over his career. Unfortunately it's looking more and more that he'll never get to top level again, perhaps not even one last victory. I hope that's not true.
