The House of The Devil (2009) Creepy horror movie with plenty of atmosphere but the build up was more effective than the reveal. Still a pretty good movie especially for Halloween !

Fairly quiet but fantastic sci-fi movie, the ending always gives me the chills!Ex Machina (2015) slow burn sci/fi about artificial intelligence. Well acted. Worth a watch.
https://nypost.com/2024/12/06/busin...esh-hurdles-from-60-minutes-to-the-teamsters/Skydance Media may finally win regulatory approval for its $8 billion deal to merge with Paramount Global — but the process could look like something out of “Mission: Impossible.” ... But people close to the situation tell me the stakes could be far broader than that. In short, Skydance — a Hollywood movie studio best known for producing the recent installments of “Mission: Impossible” — will be asked to demonstrate to Team Trump that CBS will become a fair arbiter of news.
Paramount Global’s $8 billion merger with Skydance Media faces a slew of fresh hurdles as it looks to gain US regulatory approval — from controversy over a “60 Minutes” interview with Kamala Harris to objections from the Teamsters union, sources told The Post.
The outlook for the mega-deal has grown murkier since Donald Trump won the presidential election, sources say. That’s partly because the president-elect has filed a $10 billion lawsuit claiming Paramount’s CBS network engaged in “voter interference through malicious, deceptive, and substantial news distortion”.
John Hawkes is a very fine actor. I've been following his work since "Deadwood," one of the finest telly series ever (if you have a limitless tolerance for salty language).Winter's Bone (2010) The film that launched Jennifer Lawrence's career. Simple story about a teen girl looking for her father who is working for a crime gang. Atmospheric and well acted with an unexpected ending.
Yes, I liked Deadwood very much. Such a good cast even the smaller roles.John Hawkes is a very fine actor. I've been following his work since "Deadwood," one of the finest telly series ever (if you have a limitless tolerance for salty language).
Amazon wants $5 for a movie only a couple of people have seen and reviewed? Geeeeezzzz...They made a horror movie about pro cyclists.

I'm not familiar with Matt Rife, evidently he's a comedian? The reason I didn't spend $5.99 was Matt Rife was in the lead role!!
I am currently afraid to watch Maria..w Angelina JolIe as a famous singer.. And The Apprentice looks haunting bad!!
Running on Empty is a romantic comedy w some screen time to comic Jim Gaffigan..decent
Screenplay by Julian Fellows, who went to modest success with that Downton Abbey tv series.Re-watched Gosford Park (2001) - Such a smart and well-crafted murder mystery with a terrific cast, I think the only issue I had was Emily Watson talked so softly and so fast even the subtitles couldn't keep up with her and I don't like to miss any dialogue. But that aside the sets, scenery, and costumes were great, and I liked the subtle jibes they took at the filmmaking industry. (Like Maggie Smith quipping she could never tell the difference between a producer and a director - lol!) It is over two hours long but I think those are two hours well spent.
I haven't seen Downton Abbey but obviously it must have been very well made since it was so popular and was around for a few years.Screenplay by Julian Fellows, who went to modest success with that Downton Abbey tv series.
