"cycle" or "cycling"

I mean you could use it for the obvious, but it was used in front of me during a conversation about what steroid cycle a person was using. The short hand was "Are you cycling"? A younger me would have seen this as a way to join the conversation by jumping in and talking about bi"cycling". Thankfully older me was present and just continued to drink my beer.

I also nominate this

Didn't Rasmussen and his doctor communicate in code:

"Have you done your 1 hour of intensive training?" = "1 hour of intensive training" = 1000 UI EPO?

"I've been working closely with a nutritionist"

Not one to apply to road cycling but commonly used in sports were a decent amount of anabolics are used.

and here comes the sad truth from little Richie - TREND-SETTING!

“How many teams are doing 25 minutes of threshold training at altitude? Do they look at our strength? We do our jobs. We’re professional,” he said. “Everyone used to laugh at us when we started to ride our trainers after the stages. Now 90 percent of the peloton is doing it. We’re trend-setters.”

negative splits

another "SKY 'tactic' that has almost become de rigeur" according to the hilarious Carlton Kirby (at least 6 mentions yesterday)

you see, for years every other sports scientist and DS thought that ITT wasn't about threshold riding and pacing yourself, it was about going off hell for leather than blowing our yer ar*e for the second half - but SKY changed all that - so now, if other teams follow the SKY lead and instead go faster for the second half , they will find their results will improve

Brown lunch bags

Has this not come up yet?

A few favourite PR terms:

Attention to detail
scientific approach
meticulous preparation

And then there are some all time favourites:

Supplements
Vitamins
Thyroid medication
(curently de rigueur amongst dinstance runners)
Asthma spray (never out of fashion)
train high, race low (supposedly just referring to meters above sea level)
