Of course Bennett hasn't proven anything but neither has a dozen or so of the QBs drafted higher than him over the last couple of years. Lol. McVay must see something in him to burn a 4th rd pick on a guy that so many of these "talking heads" were skeptical that he's even a NFL-caliber QB.
He's undersized, but has a good arm, and determined. I actually think the Rams, specifically McVey, is maybe the best coach for him, because Sean is so high-energy/Type A personality. In the same way Baker Mayfield, who one could in some ways compare to Bennett (and Baker himself should have been drafted in the 4th round. LOL!), played fairly well on a beat up, patchwork Rams team.

I won't be shocked if things go bad in Tennessee that Vrabel is gone mid-season. If they are moving forward as a team - on from Tannehill, trying to trade Henry, etc. and roll the dice with Levis, they aren't likely to do it with Vrabel. He was coach of the year in 2021 somehow, but he's had a stacked team in maybe the weakest division in the NFL, and never come close to getting them over the hump. I probably think he's better than you do Nomad, but not by much!
The Eagles and Hawks look like they had a good draft but who really knows just yet ? How many of those picks will still be there in two years ? The Eagles lost a lot of experienced defense which won't be instantly replaceable by rookies.
Agree. I'll argue the Seahawks had the best draft in the entire league. Some big names that look like surefire starters, and several key spots they needed. Some writers are putting up the "final" tally on the Wilson trade, and the Seahawks robbed the Denver mint.

The Eagles did score some big names. But they also lost both coordinators, and lost several players to FA. Hard to tell how well they will do. I'm worried Jalen Carter is the next Albert Haynesworth.

Packers are a team that added a slew of players. They currently have some players who are on fairly large contracts, (Clark at $12m, Jones at $8m), but as they weed through those, there's going to be a lot of depth here if at least some of these drafts pan out.

Bengals and Steelers quietly had a really good draft to me.

Yes the Wilson trade has been great for the Hawks and the Texans also did very well from the Watson swag. They also had a strong draft even if only the first two picks turn out, they got a talented QB and defender. They also grabbed a few good free agents from the 49ers. I expect Ryans to be a solid head coach.

ERodge=1 SB (12 years ago)
Foles=1SB (5 year ago)
Yet here we are...crazy world!
;)
Honestly the way Colts are picking up older quarterbacks, expect Wilson or Rodgers on the team in the next year or so. Here’s a bet, what will happen more; Rodgers shaking his head and throwing his arms up or Cobb catching a pass? Many fans are saying it’ll be great for the young players but it didn’t work so well in GB.

That's the same argument I made with a lot of Raider fans who really wanted the team to sign Rodgers. My argument was this. The Packers were in a weaker division, with a better D, a better OL, and even with all that Rodgers (and Davonte Adams) couldn't get it done. Why on earth would anyone think Rodgers (and Adams) could in a Raiders jersey, on a team re-tooling, in maybe the toughest division in the NFL?

I honestly wonder just how good the Jets will be. I don't think they have the depth, resilience or coaching staff of Buffalo. I don't think they have the firepower of Miami. And while New England's offense may be weak, especially their passing game, their defense is just stacked, and deep. Plus Belicheck will have Bill O'Brien back to run the offense, so he can focus on D.

That Manning-Saturday clip was awesome!

Yeah I'm not sold on the Jets and I don't think the majority of the Jets fans probably are either. I thought the LaFleur/Rodgers dynamic was an odd one at GB. To me they never seemed on the same page just like McCarthy and Rodgers in the latter years. The 49ers seemed to have the answers to Rodgers in the NFC in the playoffs, at least the results indicate as much. But looking at the NFC for the upcoming season it's hard to see anyone winning it past the 49ers, Eagles or Cowboys. On paper the Hawks should make the playoffs and everyone is looking at Detroit as maybe the biggest improvers. Remains to be seen how GB does with Love and the Buccs look like a team in transition post Brady and like the Vikings last season, no one expected them to make any waves in the playoffs. The Vikings are probably the other NFC team that should improve with Flores as D/C and more defense on the squad. Tipping another lean season for the Rams and any injuries to key players will only make it worse as they have little depth especially on defense.

Interested to see how the Raiders and Miami go after some good signings for both teams. With the Raiders it probably comes down to the defense holding up and getting more consistent QB play. Like to see Jimmy play well and silence a few critics and hopefully stay injury free for a change.

So it looks like the Washington Football Team is going to sell...hopefully.

Why does TB12 want to buy into the LV Raiders?! I understand him wanting to be part of an NFL team, but LV would be team 28-32 on my list to get involved with. I wonder if he made any inquiries with the group buying the WFT?

I'll answer why Tom would be interested in owning a part of the Raiders = $$$$. Contrary to what people assume, the Raiders are in a very good financial situation. Mark Davis personal wealth has doubled in recent years, Mark has full control over Allegiant stadium (which is booked for many venues in addition to football), and the team has total support from the city of Las Vegas and Clark County and is well connected to them, the chamber of commerce, and other venues. The Raiders are THE game in town, and Mark's connections there (as well as Sandra Morgan's) have cemented the city as at least a partial destination for sports and events beyond gambling. Win, win, win. That equals money, money, and more money. Even if the team itself isn't winning (right now). While Mark may appear goofy to many (at least he shaved his head, finally!) he's fairly well respected across the league, by other others, for being far more business savvy than people assume, as well as dedicated to both his franchise, as well as the success of the NFL.

Most of my source here comes from Hondo Carpenter, writer for Sports Illustrated, who lives in Vegas and has covered the team for some time. But also Raiders Wire, and just paying attention to various dealings the Raiders do.

There are quite a few Raiders fans who view Tom Brady as the devil and are very mad, but these same fans have little to no business sense, let alone how to run an organization.

XFL Championship was today. Arlington vs. DC. The game was not bad, but not that interesting, considering how many good games there were throughout the season. Just a few minutes of drama in the 4th quarter, which petered out.

DC coach Reggie Barlow said he expects about 15 of his guys to be in NFL camps soon. This is both good and bad, for the league.

Plus Vegas Raiders ownership opens up the possibility for ownership in casinos or the other Vegas sports teams with MLB and NBA coming to town and the Oakland AAA team is already in Vegas. Then add in all the expos or conventions he can bring his brand too and the sky is the limit. I wonder if he’d be able to become minority owner in like the raiders, Patriots, Bucs, etc.

Precisely. Keep in mind Brady already has minority ownership in the Las Vegas Aces (WNBA team, that Mark Davis also owns). Considering Davis wanted Brady back in 2020 (when Gruden nixed the idea) my guess is they are also much better friends than people realize, and likely see eye-to-eye on business opportunities, specifically in southern Nevada.

John Fisher is the majority owner of the A's, despite being a billionaire, he's regarded as one of the cheapest owners in sports. The pushback Davis has given to him for wanting to move the A's to Vegas was a shot across the bow reminding the sports-business world that Davis has firmly cemented himself in that city, and it's not going to be easy for the A's to just show up. Davis has all the connections already, all the inroads, and is firmly established there. This fact I think is grossly misunderstood by the general public, and people at large. It will take anyone just a few minutes reading a few key articles to understand just how business-entrenched and connected Davis is in Vegas.

Owning the NFL team in Vegas will eventually be the most valuable franchise in the league IMO. Because? The real estate control makes money all year. The "Sphere" is starting to stall out as a venue competitor with costs at $2.2b and rising. There's a reason that The Rams and their venue will prove equally valuable...assuming they get the team back on track. Their owner can afford to ride out lean times, too.
Why anyone would pay $6b for Washington is difficult to fathom by comparison. Admittedly I'm not informed about the peripheral environment and entertainment there but LV and LA seem the best choices.

Vegas has a rich history of preserving certain entrenched interests. Who would have thought anyone but Al Davis would've connected there? It's like....fate.

So Vegas in recent years have acquired an ice hockey team, a football team and a baseball team while Oakland has ended up with zippo..........I wonder what life long fans of the A's and the Raiders are thinking not to mention the local business owners and politicians.
Well the Raiders can thank Al for trying to leverage so much in a town right next to SF. His apparent willingness to move the team with each demand didn't help the local mindset politically. The Raiders fans must feel righteously screwed with the team moving. The A's have always been the lower priced entertainment in the Bay Area. Is that still the case?

All they need now is a NBA team to complete the Big 4. Hmmm....what NBA franchise is struggling & could use a new arena? Lol

I heard that attendance to the A's games had dropped off to nothing.

Honestly a bad hand he was dealt with Brady leaving and Arians keeping all the starters after the Super Bowl leading to everyone getting older. Getting fired a second time will be a death sentence to his head coaching career.
Not surprised, he had a depleted roster to work with along with his mistakes and sometimes weird attitude to losing.............
