Did you get a screenshot of that?
It's gone missing.

So it has. One person reminds Coolhand's of his "ultimate fanboy" status and a thread from 2004 is history.

Class act there.

Nope, no screenshot, sorry.

His 'cancer shield' is about to show some cracks in a very public way, I do believe.

Well I Hope he confesses and Massively implicates the UCI...I will not rest easy until Hein and Fat Pat step down....

But they will use the 'he lied for 15 years about his doping' card, why should anyone believe him :(

If you think he is going to confess because he has an moral conscience, you haven't been following very closely.

Of course he´ll only do it for himself, not for others. He want´s to save his face. That´s the reason. But not before his lawyers did a deal with SCA and the UK newspaper...

I'll believe he confesses when I see it. He's already finished. A confession won't do him much good. If people are thinking he will do it because it will allow him some sort of normalcy, or be able to give interviews without being hounded, I don't see it. Any interviewer worth their weight in salt would tear into him about the endless stream of lying, the intimidation of others, the bribes, surviving cancer and doping anyway, etc, etc.
Not sure they would. Journalism these days likes a simple narrative. Before it was all "Miracle deeds of cancer-beating Super Lance". If he can cobble together a confession that spins his disgrace into a "Super Lance is only human" story, the bulk of the press might happily run with that.

I accept that's not a small "if".

"Nike’s decision to sever ties with Armstrong is similar to the one it made with another celebrated hero. The name of Joe Paterno, the late former Penn State coach, was taken from the child-care center at Nike’s Oregon headquarters and now, ESPN’s Darren Rovell reports, the company will remove Armstrong’s name from its fitness center."

Love the bolded the most. :D

i don't see a confession.

perhaps i do not understand the legal side as well as i should but i don't understand how a confession will get him out of fast coming law suits based on him fraudulently receiving millions from his accusers.

sca and sunday times paid him real millions they want to be paid back.

how on earth armstrong's admission will pay the money back ?

sure he can arrange for settlements without the loud and humiliating law suits. but he does not have to confess for that, just offer a generous settlement and be done with (if accepted).

what am i missing ?

You're missing the marketable redemption arc after he's lost everything else.

SCA just want their money back. A simple payoff.

The ST could probably be brought round with an exclusive "my doping hell" interview.

Even if he doesn't confess, the lawsuits will still come. Just because you keep saying you are not guilty, doesn't mean you won't go to jail because of the evidence. Armstrong knows the lawsuits are coming, so if he confesses, it'll only be because of his family.

Hasn't he stated under oath that he didn't dope? If he makes a public confession, won't he be open to perjury charges?

I think if he was going to openly confess, it would have been in the three months leading in to last week.

Don´t know how psychopaths think, but didn´t they all confess in the end, when there was no escape?

So, I still think he´ll do it....

Apologies if this has already posted, but I came across an excellent piece by Gale Holland of the Los Angeles Times.
Holland does a fantastic job rebutting the arguments of Armstrong apologists and makes an eloquent argument for clean sport. http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-1016-holland-livestrong-20121016,0,6675576,full.column

"The romance of cycling is a lone rider gritting up the Rockies beside a dancing creek, or schussing down a coastal incline. It is not a grubby little refrigerator stuffed with vials of fluids, or athletes hooked up to wheezing bags of blood with Dr. Vampire standing by thumbing rolls of cash."

Oh man. I did not think this would happen, and this fast. So good.

I dunno, he's painted into a corner; I don't think he can go anywhere, or do anything, without confessing first. At least then he can rebuild his image in some fashion. And this is a guy who loves to be in the spotlight more than anything. As much as it would astound me to see him contrite, I think some fake contrition coming up.

As a fan of cycling and skeptic of the Armstrong myth though, it's already done in my mind. People know the undeniable truth. And that's mostly what I've wanted for years.

He can't. The risk is too great. He has to deal with each lawsuit individually. Confessing kills his negotiation position.

aye, the court of public opinion has already delivered a verdict.
