'The Levi Effect' has been shown on UniversalSports MANY times and is basically a promo for his Gran Fondo. Not worth tracking down a TiVO copy unless you want to watch hobby farm living with Odessa.

Indeed, this is where I stopped watching! It is still on my DVR though. Maybe if I'm snowed in or something I'll finish it. Does he mention Lance????

I'm willing to cut Wonderboy some slack on this detail as it was Carmichael's "take the injection or leave the team" that came before the stuff that followed. If the first experience of high-level bike racing is getting a needle stuck in then perhaps that becomes the way of life.

Do we know if he was doping wearing the man-kini in triathlons before Carmichael? I don't. But we know for sure he was doping under Carmichael.

Would he have been any less of a legend in his own mind and social predator? Probably not.

################
The fact the President of the cycling federation knew the up-to-the-minute doping choices of his sport's athletes should tell everyone that the federation was encouraging the doping.

Technically, the bio-passport could work. Obviously the UCI doesn't want the doping to stop. It can't be made any clearer than Armstrong's statements regarding discussing AICAR with McQuaid.

Yeah, I don't get why Carmichael hasn't been popped or outed more, He runs those successful training school type things right? Why can't they close them down

Interesting.

The Levi Effect has been shown on Universal Sports multiple times. I recorded it and have only made 1/2 way through. Dreadfully boring....no mention of doping yet.

Saw it too, I made it about 15 mins in, and turned it off, it was so boring and didn't say anything really.

I think it's highly unlikely his testing centers would have anything to do with doping these days, but Armstrong may well out him down the line. They're not on speaking terms these days.

But according to Lancey-poo he sees himself as loyal to a fault. Must be Carmichael's fault.

No, not as I recall. My advice: free up the DVR space for something more scintillating like the 4 a.m. test pattern

Unless they've got something recent, it's all way, way, way in the past. What a shame he won't be banned for doping Gran Fondo riders. C'mon Chris! Get back in the doping game!

Even Ferrari still claims to be coaching. Ferrari can keep coaching just like Lance can be the king of the bikepathletes. It's all outside WADA's reach.

I know this is likely, but is there more recent evidence?

Half of the CN legend-in-his-own-mind interview is to reconcile with Wiesel and Co.

Thom's doing great. Not a whiff of controversy, he's got Pat and Hein gone, and Plant got a promotion. My guess he's influencing the UCI through Plant like a puppeteer the way he runs USAC through USACDF. Cookson knows he owes Thom some favors for the Plant vote.

No need to worry, he will always 'walk into situations' he can't help himself. :D

especially if he says even now that "99 per cent of my career isn’t about doping" - our good old Uniballer will never change (however he tries to throw the blame on the "system", filthy europeans that spoiled the good american boys, doctors, managers, sponsors, UCI, or "****ed up bussiness model" of cycling where the ASO/UCI mafia takes all and the teams/riders are on the slave end)

Carmichael stopped communicating with Lance when it was clear which way the investigation was going. Lance says he built up his business through his name and didn't deserve to be treated that way.

That's hilarious!

Kinda true though. Carmichael would be nothing without Lance. Lance allowed him to pretend he was his coach for years, selling his cycling programs with this on the material "Lance Armstrong calls him coach. Now you can too".

In Hamilton's book, he says that Lance used Carmichael as a front for a "coach". But he never even mentioned Carmichael to teammates. It was always, Ferrari, Ferrari, Ferrari!

To be fair, if Carmichael didn't give Lance his first hit of cortisone Lance would have never been who he was. Carmichael gave him the taste of the new generation.

Lance meet dope. Dope meet Lance. Love at first sight.

Absolutely. That's why it's so funny. Lance treats other people as tools, and now he's affronted that he's been treated as a tool.

I think this maybe inaccurate. It's very likely Lance would have come across dope without Carmichael. It was rampant.

Carmichael and Hincapie seems to still get along. If you go to his website, he links to Hincapies team at the bottom of the page:http://trainright.com/

Should come as no surprise. For the last couple of years riders haven't played to Lance's every tune. Even those in contact with him.

I love the website. Some lofty claims being made!

Results You Can Expect

» Go faster up hills.
» Ride more comfortably when everyone around you is struggling.
» Finish your first century—and still stay up afterward for the party.
» Power away from the pack – and stay away to the finish.
» Recover more quickly after hard efforts.
» Boost your power-to-weight ratio to excel.

So in order of the results...

EPO
Cortisone
Columbian toot
Amphetamines
Transfusions
AICAR

Lance used Carmichael as a "stalking horse," misdirection to deflect the attention from Ferrari. And Carmichael relished in the role, because the public perception of his association with Phamrstrong boosted his book sales 10x.

also, Armstrong had a share of Carmichaels coaching business. he might have been paying LA 50k for the profit distribution, to be associated with Armstrong.

This just appeared on Twitter :

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ot...e-same-as-all-other-cycling-drugs-cheats.html

Guess the World Media are lining up to hear L A whine , hoping they will scoop their colleagues ?

Why is it that journos behave like sharks when they think there is " blood in the water"?

ALL they have to do is rehash " Clinic " comments as their own , thus never having to leave their home !

Look at Phillipines Disaster , instead of " Pooling Resources ", each of about 100 Major News Networks are thinking they are the only one that can provide a unique aspect , YET , they are using Accom , Travel resources and FOOD/water , that those that survived NEED , NOW !

How can we get it thru to these people that they are UNNEEDED & TOO LATE ?

Just listened to a bit of Lance's interview with the BBC, he really does not sound in the least bit contrite, coming out with the level playing field rubbish, how he is upset that only he got the death penalty etc

For a guy who will need to build empathy with judges and jurors for the foreseeable future, he is making the prosecutors jobs easier by the minute.....
