I'd agree if Frankie hadn't had to pay for his "disloyalty" to Armstrong already. If you don't believe the stories of Frankie's difficulties securing jobs in the industry, you are being far too skeptical.

There is some context to this, beyond just arguing the toss...
Betsy is on record on many occasions, stating that Frankie didn't use EPO for himself, it was for Lance. It emphasizes that blame for the drug use on the team, falls squarely on Armstrong's shoulders.

Prior to his cancer, and tour wins, Armstrong possessed very little leverage in the sport. He certainly wasn't the powerful figure he became.
It appears Frankie was more than a willing participant, even if his wife (and I don't mean RR ;)) promotes a different version of events.

Rrrrright. 99% of your posts focus on heckling anyone who questions your hero. Nothing has changed.

It does appear Lance's nonsense has worked for some......do you really think Betsy turned a blind eye? Really?

What does Tyler think?

Not back to the "hero" response again. Give it a rest.....

To the blind eye point. Did Betsy know about Frankie's EPO use before the 99 tour, or not?
If not, it has been misqouted.

According to the New York Times Andreu’s wife, Betsy, found a thermos flask containing EPO in her refrigerator in the weeks before the 1999 Tour.

“I remember Frankie saying: ‘You don’t understand. This is the only way I can even finish the Tour. After this, I promise you, I’ll never do it again.’ ” she said.

You also keep quoting Tyler Hamilton, like he is an impartial witness????

I don't get it either.

Why get into the public arena now? If GH is gonna put his story out there and deal with all that goes with it (incredibly stupid move) why this rag and two-bit reporter?

Lance has been pushing this nonsense for months, that Betsy knew, Frankie was a pusher, Travis and JV are in bed together. He tell journalist to talk to George and VDV as they will confirm his rants. Until now George has just done his normal mumbling and the few things he would say were unconfirmable. None of the cycling journalists would run with it as they saw through it. This reporter, with little understanding of the facts, ran with it.

In the end George's comments are tepid, but the intent is clear. The more interesting part of this is that once Armstrong was an expert at smearing people. A few comments and legions of groupies would jump to his defense. Now it takes months to find someone who will run with it

Comical......you left out part of it

In the weeks before the 1999 Tour, Andreu’s wife, Betsy, found one of those thermoses in her refrigerator. She was furious.

When Betsy found a thermos containing EPO in the refrigerator of their home in Nice, she urged Frankie to quit Armstrong’s team.

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/m...ully-downfall-article-1.1188512#ixzz2sMSKrMlx

A real marital crisis ensued when, after the Tour de France, Betsy found the EPO her husband had secretly obtained in their refrigerator in Nice.

So Betsy confronting Frankie over EPO, getting in a big fight, telling him to leave the team, .......is suddenly spun into "Betsy turned a blind eye"?

Nonsense

Lance pulling strings trying to re-write history.

Ok, just trying to inflict more damage to the Andreu's for sport, or something else? Is Hincapie really stupid enough to get wrapped up in this?

Do you have links for this, or do all cycling journalists email you whenever Lance tries to tell them stuff, alerting you to his behind the scenes shenanigans?

Revenge is a motivator but more importantly to push the myth that everyone doped like he did. If everyone did they same thing then he can claim he is still the true champion. Downplay his own doping as "conservative" and inflate everyone else. If he can smear Betsy and paint her as the same level enabler as Sheryl and Kristen all the better.

George was duped. I doubt he feels good about this. I expect he will work to extricate himself from this mess.

Why do you think Lance is making the effort? Hasn't the "level playing field", " everybody was doing it", "I wasn't the ring leader" crap run it's course?

I realize the Andy's of the world will always fall for this garbage but I'm wondering about what LA thinks he gains?

I guess when your world is falling apart and you have all the time in the world with no ability to stop the implosion really stupid **** sounds like a good idea.

Nonsense seems to be your word of the week. I like it.

Agreed, blind eye, is the wrong use of words.

She did however, furiously allow Frankie to take EPO for the 99 tour, in a furious manner. Furiously.

You could say, she was complicit in his actions...But furious.

Gotta wonder what's going on in Lance's head.

Interesting that the comments were mostly about Frankie then and not Betsy...Kinda' makes you wonder who they were trying to get to, right? Passive aggressive behavior is really a show of weak character.

The Andy's of this world (well this one) aren't falling for anything.
The Armstrongs, Andreu's, Hincapie's of this world do, however have their own agenda.
Regardless of the saintly goodliness bestowed upon some of them, they all swim in the same s**t to me.

It's ...all....about...winning....

I view everybody's actions in this saga, in the same light.

My issue is this: The confluence of statements by Lance and Hincapie regarding this issue. Nothing in Armstrong's history suggests that a coincidence like that is an innocent event. Nothing.

Bingo.

To me its pretty obvious.
The attempt to slam Betsy & Frankie in their local press has little to do with the actual Andreus, it is a reminder to some who are sitting on the fence regarding the upcoming qi tam case of what to expect.

LA did the charm Tour, and to be fair has had some success - I doubt Emma will be involved in any future case against LA.
The latest move is a reminder to the rest.

Fortunately, the courts don't.

You're right. You aren't falling for anything, you're falling for everything.

Once Lance loses everything then maybe they will all be swimming in the same pool. But somehow I doubt it. I don't see his character (more precisely, lack of) changing. Ever.

Yeah, I get that. I guess I'm just struck at what a stupid move it is. Particularly GH.

Gutter tactics are Lance's hallmark... But he can't possibly think this will help shape a more favorable outcome, can he?

To Armstrong, the only things that are "fascinating" are things that he thinks relate to excuses he can use to avoid personal responsibility.

Now he's trying to be the best at apologising!

He really is a moron and still very much banned.

Lance is not in a good place right now. Most of his friends/co-conspirators have abandoned him. His actions are increasingly irrational. I almost feel sorry for him as he is in the process of making his situation much worse, not better
