Curious that eh? Seems like the ending of most athletes. We had a NFL hall of famer who owned the liquor store by my house. When I spoke to him I was awed and saddened, an all star owning the local store.

Perhaps you should step back from the fame-crush and feel some saddened awe at the number of talented and clean riders that LA's legacy drove from the sport.

No point in reiterating the manifest details of how LA changed the interaction of the sport's teams with its governing body. My point is that that interaction has done nothing but eroded any work towards cleaning the sport up. Not cleaning the sport up = driving developing talent out of the sport = slowly killing the sport via fan disillusionment.

LA may hate cancer, but he may hate cycling just as much.

Holy Jesus! That link was hilarious!

We are the honeybadgers. And we will smack the sh*t out of you!

What are the chances that the narrator can be contracted to publicly depose Armstrong? There's something I'd pay good money for. One can only imagine the transcript...

It appears Lance's latest "Donation" was to Jack's campaign fund.

Silly Jack does not realize this has moved far beyond the FDA to the IRS and FBI

This is why Fabiani was hired. What's sad about the article is it obliterates the notion that a robust and independent judicial branch is required for a stable government.

Nothing about WonderBoy on record at opensecrets.org. Weisel however, made a token contribution to Tom Campbell in his run to unseat Barbara Boxer. It wasn't going to happen.... Not in Northern California... No way...

I'm not smart enough to know how one skirts the campaign financing reporting. Fabiani would be!

Livestrong spent $9,500,00 on legal and professional services last year, 30% of their revenue....where do you think it went?

Best comment I've read in a while came from that article:

I don't believe Lance ever used drugs to enhance his performance. People forget that he has one of the lowest resting heat beat rates going and a huge oxygen uptake ratio. Far higher than the typical athlete. He has been blessed with a body that is especially tuned to bike racing. Given that he is retired; that this episode occurred years ago; that the cost to taxpayers is disproportionat e to whatever possible benefit; and that Lance has raised MILLIONS for cancer research and continues to champion the fight against that vicious disease, he should be left alone. I personally don't like the guy as a human being. But his outstanding achievements, both on the road and in the fight against cancer, make up for whatever other failings he might have.

Let me translate that for you :

Lance never doped, but even if he did, it doesn't matter, because of all the good he did.

I appreciate what you say. If he drove riders from the sport, maybe they needed to leave anyway? He does run developmental teams and is promoting jr. races in our area. Should I interview the Jrs. and others who race the series to ask them if they hate Armstrong? Why does he do that, go figure. Ochowicz was the president of USA cycling for four years, why? Go figure. Businessman, former Olympian.
It is a tough world out there and cycling is a tough sport/business. Carmicheal is a businessman. Ex- athlete. Why, because he loves sport and benefits financially from it. People enjoy his training seminars. You and I might be able to teach the seminars with our knowledge but we do not have the bling behind our names, the snap crackle pop.
I will say it once again, the haters are wasting there time going after Armstrong. If you want to clean up cycling and all sports start at the jr. or high school level. Make IOC, FIFA, UCI accountable. I do not see WADA as any more accountable than the other organizations, they are in it for the money. Even the USDA and their alter-boy Novitzky are only in it for the money. If you believe in all those guys it is like a nice back rub, next week you will need another one. But then again this clinic thing is all about whining and complaining, no? Don't believe me, send them a check. Any of them. You will get a nice back rub and thank you letter.

Whatever happened during that cancer treatment was like the radioactive spider that bit Peter Parker. Only this was a cycling spider with four times the leg power of a regular two-legged spider.

Lance was transformed and his heart grew four times as large.

He spins a web that catches babes as hot as donut grease and is saving the world with cancer.

Dave.

The stuff I've read about The Fabricator, puts his retainer in the 30,000->100,000/mo range depending on the case and which organization sends the bill. He appears to have several different businesses all doing the same thing. The Fabricator knows palms need to be greased, so the number rounds up sensibly.

Forwarding the cancer.... foundation... his.... legal... bills...???? A cancer foundation using it's non-profit status and funds to keep Tailwind perps out of jail... Boy, that would be an interesting story if it was packaged well. I would lob it like a grenade, to little effect. No, this would need the careful packaging of a mainstream media publication.

maybe it will happen after his case, why muddy the waters more than they are. wait till he is finished with Novitsky and then when they think its all over lob it in like the proverbial grenade with devastating effect.

The men here on the forum can complain Armstrong this and Armstrong that.
Me, myself I like this mans credibility. Please people, if you really want to look at clean sports listen to this man, Victor Conte. I guarantee you that from all the super medal winning countries we will see similar activity.

Congressman Questions FDA Investigation

I looked around and didn't see a post about this article just posted on Velonews (Even checked the LA thread). Apologies if it's already out there.

http://velonews.competitor.com/2011...trong-doping-allegations_163459#disqus_thread

Basically a congressman from GA is questioning Novistky and his tactics/reasons for the investigaion. But I think the best part of the article are the comments. Good conversation from both sides of the fence.

i guess the picture of this guy speaks volumes.
no too much substance in the head, a fake smile, and, well, a republican, right?

“But you’re really going after somebody whose name is synonymous with health.”

Can we invite this guy over to the Clinic?

I like a certain Filo1234's reaction to another poster's comment that tax-money is wasted by Novitzky:

if we don't look into these matters we don't look any better than the Spanish federation and their handling of doping allegations, past and present.

EDIT: Actovigen (doesn't he post here as well?) is also in fine shape:
How large does Armstrong's crime have to be for you to be OK with investigating it?

It was already mentioned on 'The Armstrong Talking Points' thread - but how the mighty have fallen.

Before it was 'the most tested athlete in history", "never tested positive" and how those nasty French people had it in for him.

Now his only tactic is to try and get the investigation stopped - you would think someone who has protested their innocence so much would welcome any investigation.

if you read this the guy the guy makes a short statement that makes no sense. He says he is concerned the Novitzky may be going after Lance because of his celebrity status and how wrong that would be. Then without taking another breath he calls Armstrong an icon..The cult of celebrity trumps all
