flicker said:Curious that eh? Seems like the ending of most athletes. We had a NFL hall of famer who owned the liquor store by my house. When I spoke to him I was awed and saddened, an all star owning the local store.

We are the honeybadgers. And we will smack the sh*t out of you!
What are the chances that the narrator can be contracted to publicly depose Armstrong? There's something I'd pay good money for. One can only imagine the transcript...

It appears Lance's latest "Donation" was to Jack's campaign fund.
Silly Jack does not realize this has moved far beyond the FDA to the IRS and FBI
DirtyWorks said:This is why Fabiani was hired. What's sad about the article is it obliterates the notion that a robust and independent judicial branch is required for a stable government.
Nothing about WonderBoy on record at opensecrets.org. Weisel however, made a token contribution to Tom Campbell in his run to unseat Barbara Boxer. It wasn't going to happen.... Not in Northern California... No way...

I'm not smart enough to know how one skirts the campaign financing reporting. Fabiani would be!

Best comment I've read in a while came from that article:
I don't believe Lance ever used drugs to enhance his performance. People forget that he has one of the lowest resting heat beat rates going and a huge oxygen uptake ratio. Far higher than the typical athlete. He has been blessed with a body that is especially tuned to bike racing. Given that he is retired; that this episode occurred years ago; that the cost to taxpayers is disproportionat e to whatever possible benefit; and that Lance has raised MILLIONS for cancer research and continues to champion the fight against that vicious disease, he should be left alone. I personally don't like the guy as a human being. But his outstanding achievements, both on the road and in the fight against cancer, make up for whatever other failings he might have.

No point in reiterating the manifest details of how LA changed the interaction of the sport's teams with its governing body. My point is that that interaction has done nothing but eroded any work towards cleaning the sport up. Not cleaning the sport up = driving developing talent out of the sport = slowly killing the sport via fan disillusionment.
LA may hate cancer, but he may hate cycling just as much.

DirtyWorks said:The stuff I've read about The Fabricator, puts his retainer in the 30,000->100,000/mo range depending on the case and which organization sends the bill. He appears to have several different businesses all doing the same thing. The Fabricator knows palms need to be greased, so the number rounds up sensibly.
Forwarding the cancer.... foundation... his.... legal... bills...???? A cancer foundation using it's non-profit status and funds to keep Tailwind perps out of jail... Boy, that would be an interesting story if it was packaged well. I would lob it like a grenade, to little effect. No, this would need the careful packaging of a mainstream media publication.

Basically a congressman from GA is questioning Novistky and his tactics/reasons for the investigaion. But I think the best part of the article are the comments. Good conversation from both sides of the fence.
And how do you reckon that can be established without a proper investigation, Mr. Kingston?“If he has broken the law, then that is a serious matter,” Kingston said.
