Doesn't change anything if they never did. Its the(ir) thought that counts. They never got much out of the awesomecancerchamp, but a false sense of hope inspiration which they could have gotten from some other cancer survivors turned Olympic champs if they'd bothered to hear about them. At no charge at all.

Preaching to the choir here, but IMO cancer really is being over-exposed in relation to sports, for the amount of actual improvement of life quality and research it brings. Lot ado about nothing. Rendering all other illnesses and reasons for human despair being monopolized out of the sports goodwill pool.

It is called an "In Kind" Contribution. Like most things Armstrong it smells.

The owners donate the naming rights. They overvalue it at $7.5 million and get a big tax break. Livestrong gets to claim that their donations are way up this year despite the doping controversies....something Wonderboy has been babbling every chance he gets.

Everyone wins, except people with cancer....they get nothing.

Thanks RR. Obvious, now, in hindsight.

Couldn't figure out the angle. KC gets sponsorship money for its stadium from Uncle Sam, when presumably nobody else would cough up real cash.

Maybe they could just re-dub it USPS stadium.

Dave.

Exactly: cancer is no more deserving of attention (awareness) than any other source of misery in life: malaria, AIDS, hunger, poverty, depression, etc, etc, etc. Each one of them naturally attracts an amount of attention (awareness) directly proportional to the amount of misery it causes. Spending all our energy, or a disproportionate amount of it, on just one of these sources of misery (cancer, for example) and therefore stealing resources from the rest is a suboptimal solution to the relief of human misery. It's simple economics. Awareness raising of ANY cause is wasteful for two reasons:
1) It's a drain of resources
2) It makes us deviate from the naturally optimal allocation of resources.

Wow, just been here (the clinic) for a couple of months, but man, some of you are obsessed with Pharmstrong. I'm all with you on the doping part....
But discussing if he had sex with that or that woman...if he's been drunk in a pub last night...

Your interest for Pharmstrongs privat life..
Insane..not healthy at all..

They actually met before the 60 minutes interview. Tyler is strong. Lance offered a Livestrong connection to Tyler's fitness company.

yes, nice post, but I rather disagree with you on the part in bold.
Fabiani would say the exact same about the investigation into LA.
If awareness raising of any cause is wasteful, as you suggest, it is implied that we should close the Clinic and stop discussing doping.
(Of course, that is not what your post was meant to say, but the part in bold is too far-reaching, IMO).

WTF are you talking about?

I'm interested to get all dopers out of the sport because I love pro-cycling. Couldn't care less about Pharmstrong or Contadope's private life.

Please let the clinic be a place to discuss (anti-)doping, and not about if Pharmstrong f***** Haven!
Get your priorities right!

you're with the moral police?
let this forum be what it is.

if anyone goes too far off topic, the mods take care of it. so you can go to bed now.

I think the point is that if you couldn't care less, then why bother replying in the first place

That would be you right?

With a name like 'Anti-doping' one would expect a strong and consistent argument on all dopers and practices - yet most of your posts are about Armstrong?

Agreed. Get all the dopers out. The point with Pharmstrong is that he's been one of the biggest doper/hypocrites in the sport for at least 20 years. I doubt the sport will ever be totally clean, but that doesn't mean dopers like him should be tolerated at any level.

Sounds like obstruction and witness tampering. You would think that Lance's lawyers would have told him not to avoid contact with potential witness and under no circumstances offer them anything.

Yeah, but how long before the 60 minutes interview? I thought TH went before the GJ last summer.

Maybe the hog can make up some more stuff to clarify.

What else do you think the previous poster was referring to when he mentioned Haven?

I actually am pretty interested in what went on there cuz I think it is pretty funny. But, I am sure any details anybody knows would be modded out. Back to doping.

Tough guy Lance showing off to the cancer crowd. There's nothing more heartwarming than seeing a multi-millionaire beat-up on the small guy. He's all class our hero Lance.

Yeah, yeah. We get all of that.

I ask you upthread to clarify how long ago LA offered TH the livestrong thing for his company. You reply with a website of a restaurant where TH and LA got into it. So, I ask who the witness was you claim with the restaurant link.

Now you reply with this. WTF? Are you sniffing glue or liquid paper?

Ty was in Austin last October.

Outside magazine was in the bar at the restaurant.

To your question. I sniff both... together.
