Oxymoron? If you concede he took PEDs then he was required to commit numerous frauds and other crimes to access, administer and cover up those PEDs. Breaching USPS contract non doping clause 2002-2004, laundering money to purchase PEDs, likewise income tax evasion relating to funding of PEDs, alleged bribery of UCI, acquiring PEDs without a prescription, being in illegal possession of field trial drugs, carrying out medical procedures whilst unlicensed, etc..

Can you refer to proper controlled studies where altitude tents provided a beneficial increase in Hct?

But there could exist frauds within the LAF "Livestrong" charity to the extent that funds have been deprived from cancer sufferers.

Proper probing questions have been put concerning grossly excessive industry comparative costs in LAF travelling expenses and professional costs including legal costs. These questions remain unanswered when those excessive costs are under suspicion to relate privately to its founder, Mr. Lance Edward Armstrong.

LAF sold its rights to the perpetual use of the trade mark "Livestrong" to a third party. Mr. Armstrong and his company received the same consideration for that arrangement as LAF.

To have a mistrial the trial must have started. The storm you prophesise will erupt will be after the issue of the indictments. Can you provide a precedent in the US where public opinion have caused a trial to be abandoned before starting?

You've run quite a spool of leader without Pole setting the hook on this one...

Well put. TheHog got my hopes up so high for July 1, only to be completely full of BS. When Cimacoppi said something, I got excited again, but when TheHog chimed in it took the air out of my sails.

I seriously think TheHog is a livestrong intern who gets his jollies from getting us all riled up and disappointing us. He should be paid by livestrong because he makes the people arguing for an indictment look like fools.

The government moves at its own pace. It is useless to try to predict with great certainty if and when an indictment will come down. I do wish The Hog would be more specific, although I can understand how that could compromise a source.

The nature of the Hog's source is best explained as "internal stimuli." I can understand a reluctance to compromise that source. "Response to internal stimuli" better explains his error rate and use of innuendo than reliance upon human sources.

I've heard much the same. A letter has already been sent and received.

There are only a few possibilities to what you have said:

1. You are an internet poser and just made this up--that you heard blah blah blah

2. You did actually hear something--and that it is accurate. An indictment is about to come down. That would mean there ARE leaks because only the grand jury would know this info.

3. You did hear something, but its totally BS and you are a credulous fool.

It took eight years to take Bonds to trial. Look what happened there.

Eight. Years.

So it's too easy to get drugs approved and too expensive to prosecute those who use those few drugs that are not approved, or whose use and traffic is even outright illegal. Moreover, the solution is to eliminate the regulatory agency that does not regulate enough, and focus prosecutorial efforts on behavior which is completely legal under currently inadequate (because of the destruction of regulatory authority) US banking and finance laws?

The real criminals are those who believe the absence of governmental regulation and the free market are the same thing (the absence of governmental regulation leads to monopolistic control, the antithesis of the free market, and something like what the US actually has) and that the profit motive will cause thieves to behave better.

I agree with your last paragraph.

It's the people intentionally misreading my posts who put words in my mouth that I called for the FDA to be shut down who need a tongue lashing.

As for the other part of what you wrote, compared with real drugs of abuse like methamphetamine, bodybuilding steroids, pain narcotic medicine abuse and diversion, stealing prescription drugs and re-selling wholesale, etc etc etc what did or did not happen in some bike races in France a few years back has little societal impact.

Kids and Teens watching what college and pro football players do each week and think they can do that clean and then realize they cant and then start their own program of steroids--that is a real legitimate problem. Ten steroid use is rampant.

Oh yeah, same as amateur cycling in the U.S. Drop in at Prospect Park or Bear Mountain and watch some 40 year old iBankers on 10,000 bikes jacked to the gills on steroids and EPO (and they know who they are) rip apart young talented collegiate riders in Cat 1,2 or3 fields. Its not pretty. Did USPS, Lance, Indurain, Ullrich affect this? Maybe so. Is it worth millions of dollars to prove? Doubtful.

If there was an implication from your posts (or singular post linking to WSJ article) to be drawn that the FDA should be closed down you have agreed that was the objective of your reasoning.

So no misreading, no words put in your mouth and, please, accordingly exercise restraint with the tongue lashing.

Novitzky works for the Food and Drug Administration, which has nothing to do with Wall Street, finances and so forth. Or are you suggesting the government save money by closing down the FDA?

<snip>...Yes, you read my post exactly right--I was suggesting that they shut down the FDA. Brilliant deduction there. ...<snip>

If there's one thing about the clinic, more often that not "My sources tell me" can be accurately translated as "I just pulled this out of my @ss"...
That's great, just when I was trying to think of a clever joke involving gastrointestinal tracts as the source of those internal stimuli... :(

speechless re your cluelessness

Interesting, isnt it, how major players are standing tall right next to him.

Prime Minister of Australia tweeted support
Riding with Senator John Kerry in a week or so
Mayor Bloomberg NYC right with him, recently visibly supporting him
Mayor Los Angeles right there with him
Sanjay Gupta
Corey Booker etc etc etc

You forgot the strong support he received from Bozo the Clown and Homer Simpson.

The only person who matters is Erik Holder. Lance's paid liars already met with him.....he told them to get the f*ck out of his office.

That is true.

And my sources are telling me Lance's Lawyers have contacted the FBI to investigate how individuals on the CN Clinic know about "the letters".

I'm over at ESPN. Drumroll please.....

But why would they ask the FBI to investigate wild speculations made by armchair lawyers about nonexistent letters?

Dave I draw your attention to the rules of the Forum and in particular:

12. Issuing claims of information or quotes without listing sources or links will result in warnings or infractions.

Therefore would you kindly provide a link(s) to the source(s) of your information that each of those named six persons are standing tall next to "him". As my post made no direct or implied reference to a person who is "him"?

Lance also played golf with President Clinton a couple of weeks ago BTW..

You know, when Lance is in jail - he will NOT miss a beat at all.
Still be getting stuff done. Workaholic.
GettingStuffDone-aholic.

Although the World Leaders will have to come visit him instead of vice versa.
No problems I'm sure lol.

If anyone has heard anything, just more evidence of leaks.
Right?
I communicated today with another friend who is a former AUSA now practicing in San Francisco. He tells me that he would be shocked if the AUSA gave Armstrong's attorneys advance notice of a sealed indictment. Armstrong and his counsel will know when Armstrong is taken into custody.

I have little doubt that Armstrong received a target letter months ago. Armstrong is free to tell anyone he likes about that. If that is what was leaked, best ask Lance and Fabiani who on their side let it out.

I suspect that these are appearances related to cancer work that were booked well in advance. It will be interested to see who stands by him post-indictment while out on bail awaiting trial.

BTW, I'll bet that if that happened with Holder, it was leaked by someone on Armstrong's side to a Republican friend in Congress. ;)
