Here's an idea Stingray, JRTinMA and others...why not wait a day, or heck even a week, to see if this 'major' insider info is true?

Hell I'll give the Hog a month's grace...there are innumberable logistical issues that may interfere with a definitive 'date'. Patience.

If the Hog is incorrect after a month or so, lay into him.

NW

Is this month grace period supposed to be served concurrently, or sequentially, with all the other grace periods, still tolling, for all the other assurances Hog gave us in the past that something was coming? Charley Brown, Lucy, and the football definitely come to mind here.

Thank-you. Information is scarce. But someone gave someone else a nod and said its neigh. I've also been told Armstrong is co-operating with whomever is running the investigation. He is following their request for the time being before the official process begins.

Please, Hoggie, tell us that this time you really, really, really, really mean it.

And Mr. Novitzky, how utterly insensitive of you to keep delaying the announcement, when everyone knows that we Clinic members have nothing to do while waiting but take potshots at each other. We are like sharks here. If someone doesn't toss a piece of raw meat in the water fairly regularly, we start chewing on each other.

If it makes you feel better, I just asked my 8 Ball if Armstrong would be indicted this week. The answer was "Yes."

All arguments aside, indictment must be imminent really, its been about 17 months since the investigation started, and it is too much of a coincidence for Lance to cancel his Brazil trip. I don't think we will have to wait too long now...

There won't be an arrest like you all hope. He will be invited to a meeting with counsel and consulted on the proposed charges. After this meet he will then be given by letter of the official charges and by the manner and means they will be dealt with by the courts. There is humility in the process.

This meeting may have already taken place.

In this particular instance both The Hog and I heard the same thing from different people. I heard from someone who I consider a reliable source (no, not anyone on the internet) that the hammer was going to fall on Armstrong either before the Tour or during the event.

I go on information I receive and not obfuscating, made-up nonsense. Things happen and some people have been occasionally wrong, but it isn't because we are sitting at home making stuff up for the hell of it.

My source has given me great information in the past, is a friend and I speak to him personally on a regular basis. Even good sources can be wrong sometimes.

Also, I have been privy to insider information to which there are no "links", and therefore I cannot go on the record and say "this is going to happen because"..."

Rest assured the indictments are inevitable. When I don't know. This time around the info is being kept from me.

as i told one respected user here in a private communication, i have all the patience in the world as long as the objective facts point to high probability of indictment.

this was about a year ago and more facts have leaked since.

so i continue to be patient and optimistic.

as to the hog's forecasting record, well, he does sometimes run ahead of the events but that's what the forums are for. having witnessed the results of his predictions for sufficiently long time, i made my mind to treat his info accordingly but still respecting thehog b/c he is a knowledgeable cycling fan who suffered his own bouts with cancer and made the right conclusions about the fraud this thread is titled after.

also, when in shape, he produced some outstanding posts...

no i wont waste time demanding sources from him....

He may be invited to a surrender for arrest and arraignment on an indictment. They may thus spare him the perp walk. It won't be a letter. It will be the indictment itself. But, he will be processed as an accused (Firesign Theater would say accursed), finger printed and brought before a MJ for arraignment and bail hearing. That arraignment will be public.

How would charges be released to the media?

I am not really on the ball with the US Justice system.
The indictment will be made public as a court record when it is unsealed by the court, often times post-arrest.

Thanks. Good information. Yes I think he'll be spared the perp walk. If he was a flight risk or a risk to the public then they would have applied the travel ban much earlier.

No disrepect to TheHog, this is simply how a grand jury works.

Much is still unknown. Hopefully, that's a good sign that many regulators are permitted do their job this time. I would argue it's probably more important that the other actors at Tailwind are prosecuted to the same extent as Wonderboy.

To be honest, I am not overly bothered about Lance doing a perp walk, or what sentence he may get, although I can understand why people are. I just want the public to realise he has doped since the year dot. I was talking to a mate about it, and he wouldn't accept what I was saying. He said, "He hasn't failed a test all of his career." It gets annoying after a while. The sad thing is, it's a great, great story. But it is fiction.

It should be interesting who else is named. There will be people who are in more trouble then Lance. Also will be fun to see who flipped

To bolster my knowledge I had to do a quick little wiki search...(sorry my education was in geology )
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arraignment

I understand a bit more how it may all come together and I most certainly think that LA will avoid a perp walk...I don't really care either.
Justice just needs to be done.

I'm not certain though when we the public will hear anything...one would think as soon as anything is formal.

No travel ban has been imposed. The right to travel is a fundamental right that can only be restricted after notice and an opportunity for a hearing. In a criminal case, travel restrictions are addressed in a bail hearing. Should travel restrictions be sought, you will hear about it.

Ah, yes. Who has flipped? I'm thinking that Lance may have flipped on Thom and the others. The Feds have been after Thom for a long time. It will all come out. It's always fun to watch the snakes bite each other.

Hearing Lance testify to his comprehensive doping program, and all the steps he took to cover it up, would be the best! The PR fallout would be the icing on the cake.

VF will cover the whole sordid mess once he's indicted. A friend in NYC tells me that they are likely already at work on it. I have a contact at the New Yorker and will check with him as well.

The report notes that music for the service was provided by cellist Yo Yo Ma, folk singer Joan Baez, and U2 singer Bono, who read lyrics from an iPad.

Looks like Lance "the friend" wasn't invited.

It won't get really funny until the various true crime shows each start running their version of the story.

Has it come time for people to reveal how they intend to celebrate Armstrong's indictment? Maybe we need a thread for that.
