How does a 12 mile TT in New Mexico become a 40k "junior national record"?

More evidence of Lance's magical powers.

Of course Billy knows "It's Not About the Bike" by heart. He knows there is no mention of a 40K junior national record but he assumes that is because Lance is such a modest guy he forgot to mention it.

I'm not a business formation expert. Please enlighten us.

I know USAC's rules didn't allow him the freedom to do as he pleased with no oversight so he moved development to USACDF where Tailwind's principals are the board of directors.

I would have liked to have read 'heather' s comment. :)

Gosh, I didn't realize that Coyle 'lost' all of his groundbreaking data...

Time brings a fresh perspective, doesn't it? He couldn't write that same article today.

Why not ? It is quite clear that there are plenty of people who still believe in unicorns.:)

can somebody explain the story behind this interesting quote from the mapei story on CN?

The problem is that his haematocrit is only 52,” he was told. It wouldn’t be long before Squinzi was banning his riders from consulting external coaches such as Luigi Cecchini and Michele Ferrari. or before Ferrari’s most famous client, Lance Armstrong, was cold calling the Viale Jenner switchboard and ranting at Squinzi’s daughter Veronica about ‘il dottore’s’ assertion that it was impossible to finish in the top five in major tours without blood doping.

Armstrong is a petty bully. Give the way he has harassed friends, teammates and critics is anyone surprised he would harass Squinzi's daughter?

Billy,

Just because you write a book doesn't mean the contect is accurate or true. In fact, when the book is about yourself the content is COMPLETELY biased.

Just ask some people who grew up in the Eastern block countries post WWII, the "history books are written by the winners", but they can be completely falsified.

Without clear documentation no one believes anything about LA right now.

I don't think Billy read the book or his link as neither supports his claim of a "Junior national record".

I see Race has had some success in train wrecking my original post by throwing out a red herring.

The course and event do exist: (for the red-herring crowd, please scroll down on the first link. You'll find the Record Challenge Time is the last in event in the National Time Trial Series. I guess the course is devalued so much, they just had to included it in a the national series, but no, I'm making it all up!

http://www.usacycling.org/nttc/

Does the course place a lot of records?

http://www.usacycling.org/forms/records.pdf

I do have one correction. The former junior records are at 20Ks. So it was is a 20K record. I always competed at 40k, so I think of it at 40K. The Dr. M calls the course at 12 miles. Please read the course description again:

http://www.nmcycling.org/rides/MoriartyTT.html

The course is an out and back. 24.87 miles is equal to 40k. 12.435miles/ 20k to the turn around just short of Estancia. 6.2175miles/10k to McIntosh for the 20K.

For a record that LA set the record in 1990, and it has since been broken, I have found it hard find a link to it. I wonder why? 20 years on? Of course links are the only burden of proof allowed here. Very convenient.

Of course, the children in the room, will now mock the course. Too flat! Straight! One Turn! And on and on….. and on….

This form is not a court of law. LA could be convicted of using PEDs. He could be acquitted if charged. However, then and only then, it will be so, but I'll have good laugh if he is not. If only for the reason the posts on this thread might number in the hundreds of thousands one day.

I didn't call the course 12 miles -the book you linked says 12 miles, and also says it was in 1989.

In September 1989, during his last year of high school, Lance entered a 12 mile time-trial in Moriarty, New Mexico.
....and you still haven't shown that it was a 'Junior National Record'.

.

Thanks for the info.

You know, some people can not handle the truth.
Small pocket of people....

Lance was ALWAYS a great TT'er. It's true of course.
Lance was NOT transformed by EPO. It's true too.
Lance did MORE for Ferrari than vice versa. It's true.
Lance did NOT flush Floyd's blood or bribe the UCI $500,000. True and truer.

Anyway, thanks again for the links!

Yes, because links are a convenient way of managing an inconvenient truth.

And it exposes liars. :cool::cool::cool:

Troll Babble

Look, We understand. You are embarrassed, But this is just making it worse

You thought you would stoke the myth with a lie you invented and didn't think anyone would call you on it.....or maybe disruption was your goal?

Lance's own book dedicated a couple pages to the story of this TT. He goes into detail, even down to the color of the jacket his mother was wearing. Funny how even never mentioned the "40km Junior National Record" he set that day.....that's because you made it up.

Whats next? Are you going to tell us how Armstrong is the Youngest ever World Champion? Save it, that is a lie as well.

No that was Ferarri.;) It is so true.

Bingo. He made Ferrari so well known as The Doping Doctor that nearly every athlete on the planet knows who Ferarri is. It is oh so true.

His totals for UCI must be near the $Million mark arfter the second 'quick' Coming. The truth must be worth a few bob by now.

If you are to accuse me of being a liar, then the burden is upon you to prove me wrong. There are no 40K JN records, as I corrected they're 20K in the ITT road.

But your still playing the stupid red-herring game by calling me a liar.

The original question stands. If convicted of PED use, who then first turned LA onto the sweets? That's direction of my argument. Not your red-herring game.

But since you persist in calling me a liar. It may be taken to law. What I have said will be proven true. Lance Armstrong broke a JN record at Moriarty, NM. 1989,1990? It does not matter. He did break a JN 18 record in the 20K.

You cannot prove it the other way, but so smugly appoint the truth to you.

Farcical. :D

But you brought it up, provided the links and now upset that everyone found out you're FoS.

I'd step away for awhile. Come back when things have calmed down. You're just making it worse by pretending that 40 is 20 & there's a record in there somewhere.
