Just another Lance does too much good. The public loves their Lance.

Would you want to know if Lance Armstrong cheated?

The fat guy's obviously too stupid to realize that it has nothing to do with a book coming out as to why these guys have told the truth, but rather because they don't want to go to jail for perjury.

The best line was: "I don't want to know if he lied."

It's sad and pathetic, of course, that there are many people in America who have nothing to loose by seeing things as they really are and yet are afraid to know the truth. Who would thus not like to face reality, simply because the lie was more congenial to their world view. Must make life easy for them.

And then they wonder why the people of Europe find them so ingenuous and in the dark about a great many things, of which it is completely normal to have awareness.

The authors of that piece say the Foundation may lose $10mil.
I think the authors' of that piece may not have followed Lance's cycling exploits.

If they did, they would know that Lance performs BEST when he is being boo'ed and spit on and called a doper. Just watch Tours 2000-2005 lol.

There is a chance the Foundation may see an increase - not a decline of $10mil.....
How has the Foundation done lately? (See below)
Seems there is a silver lining in the Novitsky Investigation and the Floyd Letters.
Seems Good can even spring forth from a Witch Hunt:)

Anyway, if you want to donate - here is the link:
https://www.kintera.org/site/c.khLX...OMIaJMJ8MRIbKMK5ORJqL7IiPPJhL1LfMRIhI0KeNXKyF

Think we need to see the balance sheet. I'm sure they're up on donations but I'm also sure the internal spend has gone up on legal fees. Lets see how much bang for our buck those donations are getting.

I'll be visting the offices soon so I'll ask the right questions.

Seems Scott LeMond knows why they stick together. Via twitter,

Of course Trek is sticking by Lance, both John Burke and Lance like to screw anything that moves. Also Tiger needs a wingman at Nike.

Yeesh, that's unfortunate.

You are?

Therefore you should help all of us...

So here’s my idea. I’ve seen some excellent information posted on this site in relation to Armstrong, his doping practices, his pressure tactics , the women and the dodgy charity. The the spin-bike thread on Livestrong has introduce some interesting debate.

The more I read the more I understand that this important and extremely well researched information hasn’t penetrated the mainstream press or within the thoughts of people. With the possibility of pending trials the Livestrong crew will swing into action.

The postings are in several threads and all over the place. In addition the CyclingNews forum is really only read by cycling fans. The Livestrong shenanigans reach a wider less specific cycling dedicated audience.

So my suggest is we start out own website/blog named “Livewrong”. We keep factual only. Post only detail from linkable/scanned sources. We use it as a repository but also as a source that people can go to, to get an alternate view on the ****e that the Livestrong push out. If we can’t trust our current media and we can’t expect journalist to ask questions beyond those of hero worship then we have to take this into our own hands.

I’m sure once its open to a wider audience others will come forward with more accounts of how things work.

So if we provide the details and the links you can set this up?

"I was just writing this blog about Facts4Lance.com when I heard it had been taken down. As you may know, it was a site maintained by Mark Fabiani, Lance’s PR lawyer or whatever the official title is. And it could possibly be the worst PR I have ever seen. With friends like this, who needs enemies? So I am not surprised it was taken down..."
I like one of the comments below his article:

For the casual observer (like me) it was a poorly designed amateurish site. It also served to make me aware of how long the list of Lance accusers are actually out there. Can this many people who, in comparison to Armstrong (who has LOTS to lose) have nothing to gain, all be lying?

Livewrong was around for a few years. They weren't so much anti-lance, but more drink beer have a good time ride a bike folks. At least that was my impression. They were selling black bracelets back when Lance was selling yellow ones by the truckload. I have their logo on my drunkcyclist jersey's. I am guessing they were bought out by livestrong since the website directs to it now. My roommate a few years ago had a great livewrong t shirt, I wish I bought one.

No..."why shoot your horse when you can still ride him" is a broader metaphor than you seem to be implying. Burke is using LA to sell Treks (i.e., Burke riding LA the horse). As long as Burke believes that LA will sell more Treks, WTH would he reject him publicly (i.e., shoot him)?

As for "jumping in front of a bus"...
Should the LA scandal actually reach the point where it negatively impacts Trek sales (God forbid!), Burke wouldn't hesitate to cut ties with LA. To keep LA in the Trek fold after such an unfortunate development would constitute Burke jumping in front of a bus for LA.

Fanboys buy Treks...ergo LA is good for Trek sales. IMO it is unlikely that LA could ever become a drag on Trek sales, but I suppose it is theoretically possible. In that case, expect Burke to drop LA like a bad habit, and loudly make the point that LA the fraudster led Trek down the garden path for years (bloodletting).

My speculation is that LA himself is really running this PR show - the amateurish web site, the reiteration of the same old crap - no real professional PR person could be so inept. He is reportedly the biggest control freak ever - do you feel he would be hands-off as far as this stuff is concerned? I can picture him dictating to Fabiani et al as to what to say.

Look at this pic of the KC newspaper, over to the right side, in the figures, small print under $200 mil, is showing the $160 mil figure.

If it's a naming-rights promotional deal that could mean $160 mil over 25 years...which fights how much cancer? If they miss an annual installment the rights likely go away. Also, if the City of KC give the foundation $7.5mil (cash) and it's put in an annuity; how much actual cash would the LAF need to put into the same annuity to meet the annual sponsor deal? It would be interesting to see details of the deal; specifically the cash outlay and when it was negotiated and closes.

see it. Wonder how that is accounted in the LAF books.

It is called an "In Kind" Contribution. Like most things Armstrong it smells.

The owners donate the naming rights. They overvalue it at $7.5 million and get a big tax break. Livestrong gets to claim that their donations are way up this year despite the doping controversies....something Wonderboy has been babbling every chance he gets.

Everyone wins, except people with cancer....they get nothing.
