And before anyone has an "a-ha" moment, the reason the document is dated 2005 is because it is an Application for Certificate of Authority for Tailwaind to operate as a corporation in the state of Texas. The original date of incorporattion, back in Delaware, is June 25, 2002.

Armstrong was already a director prior to Tailwind seeking authority to operate in texas in 2005.

I'd forgotten that Johan was a director. Thanks for posting.

I'm not saying that he's not, and I wouldn't be surprised if he is. What I'm saying is that no one as yet can say for certain that he is. Yet there appear to be some here who are certain of it. That's jumping the gun a bit - we don't even know what Novitzky is after, let alone who he's after.

imo I don't think that Armstrong is "the" target, as was stated earlier. This investigation is way too big for it to be all about one bike rider.

As I've posted before, I anticipate a RICO indictment naming a dozen or so defendants. I'll buy you an ale post-indictment. ;)

Its Tyler's fault for invading Lance's turf.

Lance Armstrong’s awkward encounter with Tyler Hamilton

So, to sum up, Hamilton narcs on Armstrong on national television, hasn't spoken to him since then, goes to a city in which he lives, eats at one of his main hangouts and then is surprised when he runs into him and there's a minor confrontation? Bro, I amicably broke up with a girl 10 years ago and still dodge the coffee shop she used to frequent. And she moved out of the state in 2006! If you don't want to run into Lance, avoid the places you know he'll be. If you don't heed that advice, understand that it's going to lead to some conflict.

All that says is that Lance was on the Tailwind Board of Directors, with the implied assumption that Tailwind is a target. There's a lot of assumptions masquerading as facts around here.

I have no idea what Novitzky is truly after. Neither do you.

Who is Terry Lee? Who is John Bucksbaum? What relation do they have to Lance or Weisel?

The money...

Terry Lee is Bell Helmets and Bucksbaum is another investment banker and amateur cyclist. Google Bucksbaum and "Livestrong" and see what you get.

JV speaking about the doping program at U.S. Postal would be the coup de grace to Lance's credibility. It would damage Verbruggen, McQuaid, and everyone else who has hitched their wagon to Lance. It would give journalist the opportunity to discuss Lance's doping without the obligatory questioning of the credibility of witnesses like Floyd and Tyler. The report about what Hincapie said to the grand jury did a whopping amount of damage to Lance. Someone who has the balls, no baggage, and a willingness to speak to the press would do much more.
I seriously doubt if JV said he saw LA dope would be the 'coup de grace' - damaging yes, but his comments would be turned in to a bitter ex-employee who is angry that LA was more successful, RadioShack better than Garmin, etc etc.

Also - you are assuming that JV actually saw LA dope - not just knew he doped, but saw it. This may not have been the case in 99 as JV was not in the inner circle and had left the Tour team by stage 2.
Damiano Machiavelli said:
No, JV is maintaining omerta in the same way that McQuaid and all the other insiders are maintaining it with a constant campaign that tells us how much progress has been made and how the sport has changed despite a constant parade of new doping cases involving the top names in cycling.
I have been critical of JV before - but comparing him to McQuaid is a bit much.
Also most of JVs comments about things being cleaner are about his own team - not necessarily about the sport in general.

Damiano Machiavelli said:
JV punked out during the SCA case. He told Floyd not to mention any other people's names. Currently he sits quiet, allowing Lance and his hired thugs to terrorize those who are speaking out.
What did JV say during the SCA case?? (Nothing, he was not called).
In 2006, that was good advice for Floyd.

The only people JV has to talk about the USPS doping, completely honestly are the Feds and in time the USADA.
That is the best way to get Armstrong.

As Lance told Tyler in cache cache - "they don't care"

???

So to get this right.... Lance does some p1ssweake charity ride Saurday morning for 100 miles. Then takes the Livestrong jet 1200 miles to reach the restaurant to he could confront Tyler Saturday night???

Ride start: 1 Nissan Way Franklin, TN 37067-6367

1255 miles later...

They both talk the same talk. You are relying upon faith that JV is different. Faith does not get one very far in cycling.

Dr. Maserati said:

In his affidavit he dismissed everything he said in his chat session with Frankie as gossip and did everything possible not to get involved. He could have been proactive. He could have volunteered information. Instead he found it better to talk about cleaning up the sport instead of doing something about it.

Dr. Maserati said:

Maintaining omerta was good advice in 2005? Presumably that advice is still valid today based on JV's silence.

How do you know he will do this? What has JV ever done that shows that he will act on his professed beliefs? All I see of this publicity seeking bozo is someone who wants to reap the rewards of being seen as an anti-doping crusador but is unwilling to strike a blow himself.

So why do you think Lances only public comment was to deny ownership in Tailwind?

Why did the Feds subpoena Trek, Nike and SCA.
Because it will be through the money trail that they will show purchase and use of the PEDs.

This will fall back on the owners of the team - Tailwind.

That has me scratching my head as well. How did he get from Bundy to Rockingham so quickly, and did Kato see him arrive (or hear him run into the air conditioner)?

Oh sorry, wrong case...

Does kinda make you wonder, after riding 100 miles, then flying halfway across the country, why LA would show up at a downtown Aspen French restaurant, rather than head home for some nice quiet time. Especially when he is a regular customer: not like it was a one-shot reservation he couldn't miss...

And he was aware of the Outside event and where Hamilton would be for dinner? Looks like a possible premeditated act of intimidation.

Correct. He knew the booking in advance. Why go to such trouble. It wasn't a chance meeting.

Yeah, probably had no idea Tyler would be there. Just a lucky plane ride coincidence. Not like he has been over-focused, or rather obsessed, on what Tyler is up to...since back to Haven's time...

Sure, Lance could be a target of the investigation. But it would be a mistake to reason that Lance must be a target of the investigation.

Careful - I have been at odds with a lot of what JV has said (and what he does not say) so don't put that "faith" line on me.

It was gossip!
Even Floyd said that the pouring the bloodbag story was not true and that he does not have any fotos of the motorbike with panniers.

Damiano Machiavelli said:

2006 actually - and no as now there is a Federal investigation in to USPS which there was not in 2006, no-one would have backed Landis up.

That would be true if JV denied doping - he has not (although his refusal to discuss his own doping is frustrating).

JV has not been called before a GJ - the only reason for that is that he discussed his past with investigators.

It's not as if Tyler was the one that chose 'Lance's restaurant' either...he's acting as a guest of the Outside weekend shindig. The whole city is actually open to all...even mid/low income tourists and avg folk.

Sounds like a show of territory and chest-puffing to me, but with an 'evil underbelly'. ooh...noir!

It sure looks like LA had to work pretty hard to bump into TH...
whatever--I got a kick out of your post Krebs..:D

Can't find anything in the US Code about crimes against aesthetics. :(

Only a few things. JV has personal experience. The chat session made it clear that Armstrong encouraged doping, lied about how much doping was being done by other teams, and a shocking number of injections were being given to Postal riders.

That is conjecture. It comes from reading between the lines of JV's deliberately evasive answers. Why is it that a deceptive dirtbag shyster to Queen's English translator is needed to understand anything that JV says? He dodges, bobs and weaves, shucks and jives, and his fanboys use tea leaves and goat entrails to figure out what he did not say. Since he did not specifically deny it, it must be true. Why can he not make a simple statement that he has spoken with investigators?
