If someone as likeable as Martha goes to jail for a naughty business transaction, then what kind of proportionately fierce sentence would suit Lance?
- Rather than likeable, a world class bully and egotripper
- empire based on lies, disadvantaging the opposition, federal fraud, medical enhancements, lieing under oath, lots of I'll Sue You's, corruption, witness intimidation, possibly obtaining HemAssist from incomplete medical trials, using EPO produced for cancer patients, using it for monetary gain after it had helped him survive, the list goes on and on.

Why would Martha not get a free pass, and Lance would? That cancer shield can't be all that thick anymore.

You don't know much about Martha. The comparisons with Lance are pretty good. Martha had a free pass, no she had free passes. She was given legal advice to take a deal and she played the "Don't you know who I am?" card not once but half a dozen times.

The Rocket and Lance are both being given really lame, yes man legal advice. If Lance was thinking at all he would say he did everything he did for his family and foundation. He was willing to put any substance in his body to keep his winning ways going and all that winning supplied to the 1000's of cancer people that looked to him and his foundation for cash and spiritual support. He should lift the phone and call Andy Petite and ask for advice, stop listening to fuc*ing Fabiani.

Lance should go make cupcakes with Martha and ask her if it was smart not to take a slap on the wrist vs some downtime in prison

The only problem is the nature of the offense(s) and the fact that the Feds are holding him by the short hairs and squeezing that one ball. If he takes a plea he would still be at the mercy of a judge who may or may not give him the kind of sentence he wants which leaves him the option of accepting his punishment or going to trial.

That all depends on the charge he's convicted of. Martha was not in prison very long for one instance of insider trading. Mandella was in prison for something like 28 years for political, not criminal, reasons. Still, for 28 years he didn't earn much income, did he?

Are you expecting Lance to do 20+ years in prison? Remember, it's 20 years for each RICO count conviction. How long is Bernie Madoff in prison for?? And people were shocked by the judge's sense of outrage over what he did. I think Lance may find himself stylin with Bernie more so than with Martha.

Martha Stewart went to prison for lying to investigators, not insider trading. You can lie to your local and state police, but the Feds will teach you a lesson if you try to waste their time. I have a feeling, this is a lesson that LA and all around him should have taken to heart.

That plus conspiracy and obstruction of the affairs of a Federal agency.

I guess fanboy's can wear them.Maybe we should all chip in and get one for Polish.

Thanks but not necessary.

"LiveClean" and "LiveStrong" are already pillars in my jersey rotation.

Still looking for "LiveTheUltraLife" and "TrainTrainTrainStrong" jerseys however.
If you spot those, let me know. TIA.

Has LA already testified for the Feds? I think you first have to be sworn in for the Feds and then lie to them in order to be charged for that. Then again maybe they can charge him for lying under oath without ever being questioned?

Lying to a Federal law enforcement officer is itself a crime. Lying under oath is the crime of perjury.

Lying to Vanity Fair, George Bush, Dave Letterman & 2000 cancer victims should give him a lifetime sentence in the court of public opinion.

LA may very well have not even been contacted by any investigator yet, but I would bet anything that nearly everyone close to him has been. As Cimacoppi49 pointed out, simply lying to a Federal officer is a crime, a crime that gets coupled with obstruction and nets you Federal prison time. Not even Polish would go that far for the one nut wonder...would you?

He shouldn't have jerked Dave around. Not sure if he'll even get a comment out of him in a monologue when he's indicted.

Of course I would tell the truth....geez....
Hook me up to a lie detector lol.

"Polish, how would you describe Lance Armstrong?"
"Awesome"

"But isn't he "awesome" due to EPO?"
"Of course not"

"But didn't EPO transform Lance from a Donkey to a Thoroughbred?"
"Dude, are you stupid? Didn't I just say no?"

"Well, have you ever seen Lance use EPO?"
"No. I have been riding my own bike and following Pro Cycling since the mid 80's and I can categorically state I have never seen Lance dope. Never never never"

I have a question for you Treebeard the BallPolishing Ent... and it may very well have been covered elsewhere in the 577 pages of this thread?

Do you notice any shrinkage of the one remaining ball of awesomeness as you furiously polish the one ball of the uniballer?

Have you ever met alone with Armstrong?
No.
Have you ever met Armstrong?
No.
Have you ever communicated directly in any manner with Armstrong?
No.
Do you have any first hand knowledge of Armstrong's training and race preparation?
No.

No further questions, your Honor.

Court:
Any redirect Mr. Fabiani?

No, your Honor.

Your Honor, move to strike the witness' testimony as being totally irrelevant.

Motion granted. The record of Polish's testimony will be stricken from the record and the jury will disregard everything Mr. Polish said.

Call your next witness, Mr. Fabiani.

"Objection sustained"

My point was that LA has not been questioned by the Feds yet. So he can not be charged with that yet. Once he is sworn in and gives answers to questions then if he lies to the Feds then they can charge him for that.

What anyone else has done either told the truth or lied to the feds is on the persons who were questioned.

Why would anyone lie to the Feds unless they had a prison wish?

I understand that. But has LA already been questioned by a federal officer? Then has he been called in for questioning after given his rights? I do not think so. But you may have some information you would like to share that shows where he has been questioned?

Flicker can not testify.

He is on the jury bwahaha.

With Ron Jeremy apparently? They're certainly diving into the shallow end with this jury selection. Could make a mini-series out of this... or maybe it goes straight to DVD?

Why would the target of a federal investigation talk to the feds?
