These are the two most flown types of Airbuses and Boeings, and the comparison is quite clear.

Totals and rates are two different things. The Boeings have been around in volume decades longer than the airbus planes.

In any case, both are much safer than a day on the bike.

Airbus A320 => 631 fatalities in 20 hull-loss accidents
Boeing 737 => 3,847 fatalities in 144 hull-loss accidents

Airbus A340 => 0 fatalities in 5 hull-loss accidents
Boeing 747 => 2,850 fatalities in 48 hull-loss accidents

These are the two most flown types of Airbuses and Boeings (by decent airlines, at least), and the comparison is quite clear.

But let's hope the cyclists give us something more cheerful to talk about in a few kilometres!

I am flying from Brisbane to London on Tuesday. Thanks for that.

I think that is on a public broadcasting station here, but I have never watched it. Or maybe it was BBC America, I forget which, but I am pretty sure I have seen it listed somewhere.

I get it on Netflix! :D

EDIT: and yes, it was on PBS - that is where I first heard of it.

Ok, we are almost within shouting distance of the climb.... appears the breakaway will not succeed.

Who will go first? My heart says contador, my brain says cadel (half way up the hill)

I will be happy if anyone goes. If they all ride tempo up the climb I am going to throw my TV out the window!

I reckon Baby Schleck may go first to see if he gets reaction.....but we all keep seemingly forgetting that Sastre may have a dig to get things started.

I think baby schleck is too timid... maybe he hasn't gotten used to this captain thing...

I hope someone goes right at the bottom and it's split/regroup/attack/split all the way to the top, all over the place at the finish epic....they owe us that much

I think Cadel will have a go but will not get very far before being reeled in.

What is everyone having to drink for the race? It is still before 10am here so I am still on the coffee.

I have an off day today so I may have to break out some mimosas or peach bellinis soon.

About 3 hours behind you so it's still coffee. Thinking about a second pot. :p

As much I would like him to succeed, you are pretty much on the money there.
