Gesink is a mounatin man not a time trial man ;)

he's both.

junior dutch tt champ, top-10 in olympics and worlds last year.
at his age i'd say he is a huge time-trial talent

There is no need for astana to keep the hammer down. screw them

that's cycling man, don't overreact.

gesink is not a big enough rider yet to have the entire peloton wait for him.

If Contador is still riding for Johan Bruyneel next season, whatever that team is going to be called, i will be VERY surprised.

Why, this will probably be the easiest Tour Contador will ever win.

agreed he is good for his age, but isn't quite there in terms of challenging the big names yet. In a couple years he is gonna be one hell of a GC rider.

If he is as strong as everybody is saying in the mountains, then he doesn't have to worry about LA or anybody else for that matter. :D

Heard that Gesink might have partial dislocation of his left shoulder. painful...

Apparently he was struggling to keep up with the 2nd group.

Gesink will probably not have the leggs on friday. Tomorrow is a tough stage as well, and with a slight injury, as well as having done 3 TT in 5 days... That's gotta hurt.

After hearing to Frans Maassen (Rabobank directeur sportif) on Dutch TV, i'm pretty sure Gesink is going to pull out after the stage. Shame, refocus on riding Vuelta again and the World Champs.

so it will be the old rabo mantra again: thank god we have freire.

Astana is driving like someone got split off but I can't figure out who it is. Gesink is hurt so they can't be worried about him.

Could be that they just don't want to get caught out and staying out of trouble.

yeah kind of pathetic for a team with such a budget.

Anyway, I think Laurens Ten Dam gradually starts dreaming of wearing the polka dots... He might be let off the leash, since Menchov doesn't seem to have the form and Gesink's spent... ;)

I dunno.... they got the GIRO. Remember how totally awesome Astana was, in the Giro...
.

With the roster they have at the moment, and the team (and ambitions) they sent to France, the current state of affairs (read only at stage 5) they are kind of pathetic. Seems that everything Breukink touches turns into the opposite of gold.
