That's what Virenque said...Based on my knowledge now, I can only say he is an utter and complete idiot (who won the giro nonetheless).. but after that last stage with the wind???

I mean it's not that this is the first time he misses the gap...

not saying he didn't f**k up. but they could have showed some more class.

Ummm, if you say so. They should ride if that's what they want.

I'm just a little confused that they're making the course so difficult when there were still 70kms to go, regardless of whether or not a minor GC figure is out the back due to a crash.

This is good for Gesink. He was never going to ride a Top-10 anyway, so now he can just ride it out, do fun stuff, learn and gain experience. Maybe Rabo is going to try to turn him into an '05 Rasmussen, going for the mountain jersey.

If he can get to the 2nd peleton he'll be fine.

You're not going to see a repeat. Why would that happen ? What we will see is a massive pile up as everyone fights for space at the front. Mark my words. I know bike racing.

Am waiting for the pile up....;)

I'd say SKL took over the #1 spot from RAB as the dutch squad...

They should have fired Breukink with Rasmussen. I wonder what his excuses will be this time...

Not after the $hitty time trialling, but we'll agree to disagree.

Although I'm impressed. Gesink, Niermann and Posthuma are doing alright in trying to get back. Still only a minute behind the 1st peleton if i saw correctly

Gesink is a mounatin man not a time trial man ;)
There less then a minute behind. come on gesink! get back!!!!

So was Kloden and I think one other rider. Plus Contador has to remember to eat; he's bonked once this year (Paris-Nice).

Yes that's why I was wondering. I'd find it weird that he had to eat at the point Astana was trying to rip the peloton, and in one of th hardest sections with th wind. As if he hadn't gotten the memo. But if kloden was eating too it should be fine...

PS> and Gesink, after his chute, should have asked for medical assistence, so that the car could have brought him back to the pack...
