Were Evans and Hincapie arguing? It looked like Evans was speaking to everyone in the group, perhaps asking them all if they were committed to the break?

Missed that. Armstrong told Dopey George to get up there and tell Cadel to come back and do as his told.

Yes, that's the often repeated myth. That Evans, who in reality is one of the more attacking climbers in the peloton, is somehow a wheelsucker.

I've said this a million times, but I'll keep saying it until people realize how ridiculous this myth is: Until two years ago, Sastre had the exact same reputation.

It's "hip" to bash Evans, it's "cool" to say he's a wheel sucker. So people say it.

I don't like the guy, but you have to not watch much cycling to say he's a wheelsucker.

could do but Astana and Saxo are too good to let that happen I fear

However because of his years as a mountain bike rider, Cadel is brilliant with the decents

of and to the gents last night - cant say cadel is a wheelsucker now can we?

I'll admit that i've called him one in the past, but he has attacked a lot more this year. What he is doing today might prove fatal for his chances, but at least he is giving it a go and that deserves respect.

Thor and Cadel just had a mid-wicket conference. I think Thor wanted Cadel to drop back and give the break a chance.

People quickly forget the past.

For example, people "remember" Contador's attacks in the Tignes and Briançon stages in 2007. Yet those were Evans attacks that Contador followed, then responded to.

Kind of like armstrong. Its hip to bash him also.

Thor is gonna have to fight for those points. Fabian might want them and Hincapie and Zabriskie have riders that are going for green so they'll to anything they can to get the points.

Cancellera had a bad day yesterday, but is in good form. I think he is hoping for a good GC-position and might be commited to the break.

Yup. The difference being that the people who bash Armstrong at least have some basis in reality (although it tends to go waaaaay overboard). In Evans' case, it's purely made up.

Anyone can bash Evans' personality all they want and, right or wrong, they'll at least have some basis to support their claims. But denying the fact that he's an attacking rider is just mind boggling.

Well I think I've found what would make me like Cadel Evans! (despite his whiney voice whining, the OTT australian tv coverage and his undying belief in his godlike TT ability).

If Keenans interpretation of the conversations going on its a bit outrageous for a teammate of a serious GC competitor who comes to the break away very late to then have a go at Evans for being in it!

Indeed, Evans made that group when he attacked out of the larger group on the first climb.
