Craig, why do you think I knock myself out writing for CN and doing other translation work? So I can earn money for these trips!

Thanks. I have to say it takes a lot of work, commitment and compromise!!!

This. My parents made it to just weeks shy of 57 years. My husband and I will celebrate our 20th in February. It is alot of work, but absolutely worth it.

I have a Warmshowers guest on way. Should be here Monday. He is from the UK traveling from Alaska to the Panama Canal. Looking forward to some good stories.

A co-worker of mine was in Bolivia in June and he came across a bloke who was cycling up from Tierra del Fuego to Alaska. The guy (who is cycling) reckons he will get to Alaska around August or September next year.

It's only taken me to I'm 25, but today I leave the family home to go move in with two other friends of mine, which reminds me to stop posting and start packing, and to go pay the bond!

French guests due Friday

Aurélie (28 years old)was manager in a theater company in Grenoble.
Florent (30 years old) is lanscape designer and mountain leader.
We both like going in mountains, hiking, mountaineering. And, when Florent loves back-country skiing, Aurelie prefer dancing.

We are now doing a travel around the world with bicycle. We left France in September 2008. We crossed South of Europe, Turkey, Caucasia, Central and east Asia and now from Alaska, we are heading to Tierra del Fuego.

Where did they start from?
They are on a loooong bike ride.

"We left France at the end of august of 2008 and
after crossing the south of Europe then Turkey, Caucasus, Central Asia,
Mongolia, China, South Korea and Japan, we took a cargo-ship to cross the
Pacific ocean. From Alaska, we are now following all the way south to
Patagonia, through the Rockies and the Andes. A trip of may be 4 years
meeting people, hiking and cycling."

Sounds awesome. I was able to find a route through google maps from Kazakhstan to Belgium. more then 9000km. I work with a guy who was in Bolivia around June and he came across a bloke who was riding from Tierra del Fuego to Alaska. He started in January this year and hoped to be in Alaska by August/September 2011.
