well, there was no pure sprinter left anyway. Philipsen, if at all, but he crashed hard yesterday. To be honest, this didn't really look like a finish Jakobsen would have had a problem with to me.

Don't think this WVA is where he was a week ago, levelwise. Maybe a little drop in shape after those training weeks on Tenerife. Or maybe the result of the crash yesterday. Hopefully nothing alarming.
I don’t agree that he was domestique work on either occasions. Yesterday Laporte was the clear domestique, but because three Jumbo riders managed to get away it was to Roglic his own benefit to contribute in the break with his team mates.
Today it was echelon time, and the best way to stay in the front is by riding up front. So both times to me are no domestique duties.

Jakobsen cannot compete in MSR in this form.Jakobsen even got dropped by the Gruppetto at the end. Clearly struggled
What? There’s absolutely no way that finish was close to 9%. Sure, it was a strongman’s effort more than a pure sprinting effort but noone goes that fast on a 9% gradient. As predicted, that last km was not just a false flat ramp. The last 300 m was kissing 9% at some point. Much better for the stronger classics rider than pure sprinters.
Yeah, he totally lost Loic's wheel in the final km and came with a lot of speed from behind.Ghirmay came from a serious distance behind. Impressive
I liked his post-race interview, he sounded like he was just having a good time. Laporte, on the other hand, was understandably stroking and checking his buttock while getting on the podium, it looked like he had sustained some road rash on the buttock during the crash.Mads Pedersen sounded like he had a South Africa accent in the interview.
Maybe tomorrow, in the ITT, Jumbo can achieve ranks 1-4; even better than Sunday.
I‘d wish
1 Roglic
2 Wout
3 Dennis
4 Laporte…
He will lap the others and this finish last.Bisegger will not be in the top 4?
