Jakobsen gone

Girmay vs. Coquard vs. Van Aert I think

EDIT: forgot about Philipsen, he might make it.

Laporte was in great position near the front and then it seemed he dropped back to avoid the chaos and ended up getting involved in crash.

Wout faded a bit, although of course Mads was really ,really strong. But Coquard came around and PHilipsen was about to...

I almost believed Coquard would take that maiden WT victory. What an insane race if he had done that with Laporte doing the same two days before.

But impressive sprint by Mads, nobody was close.

Don't think this WVA is where he was a week ago, levelwise. Maybe a little drop in shape after those training weeks on Tenerife. Or maybe the result of the crash yesterday. Hopefully nothing alarming.

Coquard seems to be in the form of his life, he stepped it up big time. I think he's finally going to win one this year.

I don't know if today's finish is too much for Jakobsen. The last km is 3.7% but the final 300 m are more like 6-7%.

It's perfect for both Laporte and Wout. At Jumbo, they have a luxury problem again.
As predicted, that last km was not just a false flat ramp. The last 300 m was kissing 9% at some point. Much better for the stronger classics rider than pure sprinters.
