Rik Van Looy 1962.Has there ever been a world champion winning the double?
Yeah. Hagenes missed the split at Kuurne. Crashed at E3. Hence missed Dwars door Vlaanderen where might have gotten the opportunity to go for his own result. Subsequently was a bit of the pace at the Tour of Flanders.Hagenes just broke his nose, and seemed relatively okay in RVV. But he should be better suited to RVV than Roubaix, so we'll see how he goes. I had big hopes of an early breakthrough before the season started, but he hasn't really set the world alight. Granted, he's had a program with very few opportunities to be anything other than a domestique.
One of the few times the answer isn't 'Eddy Merckx'Rik Van Looy 1962.
Rik Van Looy 1962.
I’m disappointed to see that. I think the comments above about his increased value for Visma at the Tour has something to do with it.Unless he's sick or injured, Jumbo leaving Jorgenson at home is positively moronic.
Maybe they switched him to a different diet to avoiding cramping and his stomach has rebelled?Anybody came across further news about Bettiol and his stomach problems?
Another impressive thing about it was that neither that WC jersey nor the wins in RVV and PR were his first ones in those races his career. He already had all the monuments and a second WC. And he was only 28 at the time.Incredible.
I think, as someone pointed out, Vingegaard's physical condition (today's update casts serious doubts regarding being in top form for the Tour) possibly leaves them without a team leader for the Tour, and risking his health on what looks to be an extremely dangerous P-R, is a big consideration. He may not be a Tour winner, but based on performance, he is a better contender than Kuss, this year. They need someone to be leader at the Tour...and the Giro, so I think their decision is related to that.Unless he's sick or injured, Jumbo leaving Jorgenson at home is positively moronic.
Is the Junior's televised anywhere? I am guessing not, but they start 30 minutes before the pros (on the shorter course, obviously). I've never seen it televised in the past.Roubaix is the new Pompeii, for it will no longer exists once Albert Withen Philipsen and Ashlin Barry are done here. They have arrived. (I actually rate Felix Orn-Kristoff just as high, but I like to think in duels).

Not true, last years race was live on Youtube. They tend to film them entering the Velodrome.
But that's about it.
Is it live this year? (I can't find anything on youtube about it, how did you discover it, last year?)Not true, last years race was live on Youtube.
I will post a link when the broadcast goes live.Is it live this year? (I can't find anything on youtube about it, how did you discover it, last year?)
apparently Van Baarle was good/felt good in RVV until he got cold in the rain. He's been having trouble with cold weather/rainy weather since he moved to Monaco apparently.Neither Van Baarle. Neither Hagenes. Affini looks like their best bet?
Awesome! Thank you!I will post a link when the broadcast goes live.
Yeah, it's Lente in Twente for 2 days here as well! 🌻apparently Van Baarle was good/felt good in RVV until he got cold in the rain. He's been having trouble with cold weather/rainy weather since he moved to Monaco apparently.
This weekend the weather isn't anything like that. (tomorrow predicted 25 degrees even in NL). So he should be fine then
I doubt it will be as hot as when the Tour started there in 2015. Didn't you have almost 40 degrees those days?Time for Red Rick to get a heat stroke
