Congratulations. Finally broke free of the damned leeches. That's going to teach everyone a lesson: wheelsucking him from now on won't necessarily prevent him from winning. Australia was disgraceful. Norway was disgraceful. Totally deserved.

Today's win is what Peter needed to relaunch his career the proper way-by not attempting to become a SPRINTER, but to be what truly is - a RACER !!

Today's win is worth all the loses he had throughout the entire last two seasons :D

Sagan is the world champion with the worst supporting cast since...Vainsteins?

Hushovd also won with two team-mates (EBH, Kristoff) but those were stronger riders than Sagan had, although Kristoff wasn't at the level he is now.

A classy victory.
Coming out and saying the speech was a satiric homage to Miss World would round the show up.
I could even start liking him.

Funny thing about Sagan's bad year.
Before his Vuelta-win the Danish commentators mentioned that he'd had something like 14 wins, including his first ever GC win, I think there are several guys who'd love to have a season like that, but for Sagan it's just bad.

Sagan is a super talented rider who is a great advertisement for cycling.

Pity that so many threads are ruined by this childish argument over wheel sucking.

A fantastic win. Sagan is the most spectacular guy in cycling right now, on and off the bike, loosing or winning, love him or hate him.

Kristoff did not have the legs today, but yeah, EBH was a complete idiot to not try to close to Sagan.

Bad year? It was already good before this victory. His tour was amazing, definitely made up for the classics fiasco.

He didnt win any stages, dno if I would categorize it as good when you failed in the monuments and didnt win any stages in the TdF considering the absolute mercurial talent he possesses

Really, how? Which Aussie could attack as Sagan did? How would you race if your team had the known abilities of the Australians? Do you think Matthews could attack as Sagan did? We have never seen this before why would it happen the first time at the WC? Sorry mate but Australia played their cards perfectly. Only a deserved Peter Sagan stopped them winning.

you're post seems to indicate Sagan was the only rider who attacked all day :p

Not quite. Based upon the known abilities of the Australian team they rode perfectly. Like any bike race who cares if you attack earlier of more frequently, its what happens at the finish line that's important. Maybe the forum awards prises for fruitless attacking but that's not what the record books say. Only 1 rider was strong enough to beat the Aussies and he totally deserved it.

Might end up having better palmares than Kwiatkowski after all!

He already had better palmares before this WC. And of course he would end up better, cause he is better

I rate the Worlds RR very highly. Probably third after the Tour and the Olympic RR.
