Didn't Liggert make a deal of LA looking him in the eyes and telling him he never doped.........;)
That's the only way to tell if a man is doping. You look him in the eyes. Known as the Liggett test, this advanced technique was used by trained professionals throughout the sport. Johann Bruyneel used the Liggett test on Ivan Basso when he brought him onto Team Discovery, and confirmed that Basso had never used PEDs. Various sycophants looked Lance Armstrong in the eyes over 500 times, so he could never have doped. Try explaining that to stupid WADA and USADA #wasteoftaxpayersmoney.

Buddies til the end.

'I havent spoken to Lance in over a year'

Aye, dead on. (Irish for f*** off you lying c***)

The gradual drip of LA PR machine is working.

USADA needs to drop a hammer fist, pronto!

What an idiot, one minute saying doping was rife in an ea and some say it was impossible to win it clean and laughing with how many were drug cheats yet still saying lance did it clean.....moron.
He didnt even know what the Feds were investigating, or that it was on evidence from them that usada built a case that they could proceed with.

He then says the drugs would make a difference at the top of 5% but Lance didnt need them of course aaaaaaaaaaaggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh turning it off he is just mind bogglingly ( is that a word) stupid.

I have a question. Phil talks about Lance being a motivational speaker for livestrong. I know its off topic a bit, but when Lance speaks for livestrong is he taking a motivational speakers fee ?

Hope not, those are pretty hefty, as much as I dont like the man I dont want to presume he is completely dirty...until I get the answer that is.

Innuendo only, I am sure...

Phil should be made to ride a circuit of the Champs-Élysées on a BMX bike repeating, "Paul is smarter than me, Paul is smarter than me, Paul is smarter than me, Paul is smarter than me,.....".... and his dress should be mauve.

Rickshaw, you now owe me one new keyboard. the current one is now covered in ice coffee spewed by reading your post. nice one.

IMO, all media entities and UCI / cycling officials supporting Armstrong should be culled. Killed is more difficult but sounds similar, but I'll go with culled for now.

I am assuming the proof will finally be revealed and I then want every single media entity and UCI stooge to be hounded for eternity until they rescind their previous statements, and those before / after soundbites to be posted every where.

So funny to hear this jackass talking about some violent roid rage dopehead who has the moral backbone of a jellyfish now claiming some utter BS. Phil stops spouting this crap and IMMEDIATELY starts mentioning Phat McQuaid, president of the UCI coming to blahblahblahblahblah.

Yuck.

I currently despise the top tier of professional cycling reporting and oversight with much intensity.

Has to be seen as part of a defence strategy to smother the media.

- 100 Friends of Lance come out with a single quotable rebuttal. Phil, who has probably been fed his lines, is following Nike and others. Bear in mind these guys will face a choice of protecting their 'investment' in LA or being seen to be mugs/ writing it off. LA can convince them they have a common interest.

- Sycophants and payroll swarm the forums with disinfo, bluff, BS.

- Build a wall of denial

It may work in the short term. Crucial next step must be when USADA pull the trigger.

Does Ligget use the term "Federal Investigators" on the video ? I could not hear that bit.
If not, how can we infer he is really talking about the Federal Government ?
Many thanks.

One thing not in Phils favour is he is not an anonymous bone idle lazy w*nker. A c**t. He has contracts to official cycling broadcasters. So theoretically there could be a contractual trail from broadcaster through UCI then WADA down to USADA. To not bring cycling into disrepute. Or he could be seen by the Feds as being an official mouthpiece of UCI via those contractual links.

This bone idle w*nker is pretty sure his deal is with Hein and Pat. The WADA/USADA stuff is totally peripheral to him unless they start testing broadcasters.

I don't know that there's much use to parsing Phil's junk out. We know it's junk. Let's hope it's substantive enough to get some law enforcement interviews. The call back to Hein/Pat would be the stuff of legend, "You told me to say this and now look what's happened!"

An interview with Tygart I think I heard on NPR called it u.s. Ahh-Dahh too. I think I heard it on Kimmage's interview with some Irish radio station posted in another thread too.

I need to look Phil in the eye and ask him if these claims are true. Then the truth will be known.

Good one!

I need to remember this if I ever bump into him. Also I think we all should just ask him directly to stop lying and hurting our sport.

This should surprise no one. This old fool has been complicit from the very beginning. He's a liar and a fraud, just like his hero, so this is just par for the course.

Rides on the Livestrong jet, lots of free meals and other occasional "benefits", and Phil is a friend for life. At the end of the day, these guys are just as responsible for the problems of doping than Lance Armstrong himself. Only with willing and complicit journalists could the fraud have continued for this long.

Close. What about the audience that grants them authority and consumes their pap? Why not spread the responsibility around?

Phil's statements are unfortunate without some kind of evidence to support the claims.

Playing Devil's Advocate, but isn't that what is going on on the other side as well?

Apparently Vaughters is very upset about the claims. He’s taking it up with Phil Liggett.

Again, as above, if you had just made a sweet deal to testify (he is supposedly one of the witnesses), wouldn't you be put out by someone making claims against your camp?

I think Phil is absolutely nuts to make these kinds of statements, whether he believes them or not. As a 'journalist', he has just inserted himself in the ongoing story...I'm pretty sure that is not being objective...may we should ask Keith Olbermann if that was a good move.
