Does anyone know what's going on with Degenkolb? He was 5th last today more than 20 minutes back. This course probably wasn't perfect for him but if he was nearing top form towards the worlds he surely would go for a Top 10 on this stage? And also only 10th in the first sprint.. His form hasn't been great all season but this is rather humiliating.... I'm seriously starting to worry if we are ever going to see the 'old' Dege again.

How did Basso win so many stages back in the day ?

Well, he was on his way into evolving something called RoboBasso, and we didn't get to see the final version :(

Ask Kurt Asle Arvesen about Basso, they where best friends .. Basso is a dope head, who cares about the scumbag!

Yeah, and Degenkolb and Bouhanni were described as the top names of the race this year. The Frenchman has abandoned, and the German doesn't impress at all...

THe top 10 for RR in Bergen worlds have already landed and trained in the course yesterday .. Who cares what below 30 does...

Oh, the Top 10 have already been announced? Great, so I guess I won't have to watch in the first place :p

To the danes in here: Why is the Vejle area so hilly when the rest of Denmark is basically flat?

It's the same thing here in the Nederlands. The Limburg region is very hilly but the rest of the country is very flat.

Not that flat..... it's pretty "hilly"..... though obviously the flattest place in Scandinavia ;)

Mads Pedersen and Søren Kragh > Valgren and Cort!

Who is Denmark captain in the Worlds when Matti is not at his best? Valgren?

Team is:

Valgren, Astana
Cort, Orica
Pedersen, Trek
Kragh Andersen, Sunweb
Juul-Jensen, Orica
Moerkoev, Katusha

The first 5 are all young, up and coming talent, who are yet to reach the peak of their career (Valgren is getting there, and will be riding his first season as a classics co-captain next year), and Moerkoev pretty much a road captain, who will only sprint for the win, if he ends up in a small group at the end (he is still fast, but not top 10 fast in a bunch sprint with all the best).

Valgren and Cort have been appointed captains, but I think both Kragh Andersen and Pedersen (especially) will be saved, far into the race, as backups if the captains don't have the legs..... While Juul-Jensen and Moerkoev do the grunt work for the first 3/4 of the race.

If Norway shows us real viking weather, the team will have a serious shot.... if it's all calm winds and sun, they will have to get a little lucky ;)

The last ice age did that. But we have many climbs in the most part of Jutland which isn't completely flat. Though with a maximal altitude of 175m, it practically is.
