After chasing down guys all day, Bora & Van Poppel win - chapeau, although Lonardi was not a happy man in 2nd as he was blocked out against the barriers.
All of the big 3 sprinters had an off day with the last lumpy bits. Does not look good for Cav's hope of that last win at the Tour.

From 1st to 81st - the Jury has spoken. Van Poppel relegated for his sprint. Chapeau Lonardi & Polti instead! (and a nice win for Slavique Nuke). From the front it looked like Lonardi did not come up to Van Poppel but if he was blocked then that's not surprising.
Now we have Polti & Bardiani 1 & 2 on GC - who had that on their bingo card?! :)

Wednesday's stage 4 takes us from Marmaris to Bodrum, 137.9 km (which everyone seems to agree on), start 11.46 CET, TV from 13.30 CET

Finish is a little up and down -

Last year's stage from Marmaris to Bodrum went inland and over some real lumpy stuff, but this year it's along the coast so not so tough for the sprinters, but the last drag up for 15 km before the descent to the finish will probably see off the hot shots if the current form is anything to go by.

Cav’s just returning from being sick for awhile, wasn’t expecting much this race. But like last year his only chance is before the second and third week as OTL chances increase. But without Vingegaard or not at 100%, the stages might not be raced as hard.

Lol at the parcours today. It's impossible to keep your line with that corner there. I can understand it feels unfair to Lonari but this is pretty ridiculous.

No that's for teams (Pro team or conti), not for races.
Money helps ofcourse, but there's more.
They got demoted cause they tried to break every riders bones every year.
In that case the S*****ep***s would have been banned from ever taking place again long ago, though.

Not only the indignation of being relegated but Van Poppel gets also a 200 Swiss Franc fine for his wayward sprinting yesterday.

Back in October, when the route for this year's tour was announced, Cav said,

"It's so hard. I am actually in a bit of shock,"
Since then Cav's been away ill and the peloton has gotten faster and faster. Even without Vingegaard, Pogacar, Roglic & Remco should be at the Tour so Cav needs to be at 100% just to be in with a shot.

The main benefit of Vingegaard being out or not at 100% is Jumbo won’t make every single stage from the get go. UAE will most likely not ride like last year due to Vinge scenario and Pog doing the Giro. Roglic and Bora aren’t making anything hard like last year. Evenepoel and Quickstep might but it’s a question mark on if that’ll cause him to crack. Alpecin is a threat due to Philipsen being able to contest many different types of finishes.
