2013 - massive tailwind
2014 - massive headwind

If there was a tailwind then this year probably wasn't much better than last in absolute terms, but phenomenal attack nonetheless. Individuals sprinting uphill for 2 minutes straight seems to be happening a bit more often lately.

2 minute sprints. After a 5 minute effort.

Seems legit.

Porte goes fast up a tiny bump in Oz and the place goes in to overdrive.

Not necessarily, just keeping an eye on the progress of Sky to see what next ridiculous performance we see from once average cyclist and now world beaters. Porte, Froome, Wiggins, Sir DB, they make a mockery of the sport.

some good full *** riding by little richie

you used to have to wait for January 04 for Saiz to bring down his ONCE or Liberty Seguros charges for some IGF-1 from Gropep thnx Mike to get full *** before the European season. took Richie little Richie Porte to bring it but and did not Adelaide love it with some suppression of disbelief and some cognition dissonance. only adelaidians. meta full ***.

little riche porte lipotropin full ***

full *** lipotropin little richie porte

You clearly aren't from Adelaide, presumably from Melbourne. We were all much happier that Dennis held out on GC, he's our boy, and Evans is the champ. Even as someone who is a Sky fan (sane Sky fan, of course they're doping, like every other major team.) I preferred to see the local boy win. As for suspension of disbelief and cognitive dissonance, you say that like Adelaide is special.

There hasn't been any progress from Sky in a long time. Porte certainly doesn't look any better than he did in his first race for Sky three years ago.

Not been the same since Leinders left. Wins Paris-Nice (2013), falls apart in the Tour, gets pneumonia. Shambles.

He seems very very strong this year, sure he's beaten Froome's time up the Madone so surely if he can be consistent in the Giro which he has never been in a grand tour he could seriously challenge Bertie, Contador may underestimate Rigo and Porte a little bit..

It wasn't that crazy, but if it's good old richi from 2013 then contador should be a bit annoyed.

Rigo is np though, no way he'll do anything.

I think it is 2013 Porte. He'll dominate the time trial, easily win PN and will be ready to go full Ax3 at the Tour in support of his master.

Is froome joking when he claims porte has now also beaten lances time up Madone, or is he actually serious.

So what, while even dopers could get nowhere near Armstrong, Sky chanced upon not 1 but 2 riders that can ride faster than Armstrong, while totally clean. Do the Sky's 2 or 3 remaining believers even realize how ridiculous a proposition that would be?

Hitch, I think you underestimate how many MAMILs go down to Evan's Cycles on the weekend and buy their favourite SKY kit.

Anyone who follows the sport generally should have a reasonable clue what's going on, but the July / Weekend warriors are an entirely different prospect, I feel.

Yeah it's a bit of a head fck to consider the guy who has the world record for the 4km pursuit is nowhere near winning a TdF and riding for a pro conti team this year.
Bobridge was never going to be seen as a future Tour winner, but you'd expect someone who has:

IP World Record
National Road Champ
U23 ITT WC
Top 5 ITT WC

by the age of 23 to be an effective pro. And Budget Forklifts are Conti, not Pro Conti, even if they are one of the strongest Conti squads getting around.
bobridge is a mentally disordered depressive alcoholic who sufferes from chronical diseases. it's a miracle he's still on a bike

Can Porte smash the last nail on AC's coffin? GIRO EXCITING!
if you can barely take 8 seconds on kwiatkowski a guy who got severely exposed in tour cols you don't stand a chance. people need to put this in perspective.

And what about the supreme climbing ability of Geraint Thomas?

He's always climbed well on not too long cols. definitely a lot better than wiggins ever did before losing weight and thomas is arguably more talented even than wiggins. this doesn't surprise me. see last year in paris nice as well. without the crash he would've been 2nd as well. he's losing some weight and it improves him and again put things into perspective. they were barely riding better than spilak, fuglsang and kwiatkowski. the real level is at tirreno

Exactly, although there were guys like aru, majka and TJ here but 2 of these guys are not even close in shape.
And tj is meh anyways.
