Haha, yeah, that's the obvious counter, but Jesús Hernández is a lapdog. His master's victories are his own. As long as he gets fed and a warm place by the hearth, he's content.

I'd say he's got a pretty good leader to take care of him!

Well, he's definitely nice to his puppies and all that, but I fear he might be spoiling them. I mean, look at Noval.

I would say friend rather than master. On the road he does his job for Contador but the second they get off their bikes there is no seniority. They do everything together. Its all in the latest ciclismo al fondo;)

At the end of the day, the Schlecks lost the tour because they were too coward to attack in the Pyrinees. If they had had the courage then, they would be on the two top steps now.

Watching the highlights last night, Cadel Evans and Andy Schleck were shown riding the same corner. Evans went into the corner hard, barely clearing the wall. Schleck was much slower through the same corner. At least some of his time losses were due to his poor bike handling. He needs to spend his off season racing cyclocross and riding single track. And he should race (not ride) any ASO races with important preview stages.

Yep. Mtn bike and ski. And get lasik if necessary. Thor gave some props to his skiing background as a source of his DH prowess. Represent. Cadel was fairly average skills-wise for a mtn biker as I recall, but as you can see it translates to exceptional on the tarmack.

Three former pro XC mtn bikers in the top 10 this year. Tommy D. Peraud. and EVANS. F yeah!

Getting my vision fixed to near perfection was a huge boost for my DHing. I really can't emphasize that enough.

I think the Schlecks needs to sacrifice Frank for Andy to win. They cant have it both. Question is if they will...?

Yes, he will be at least every bit the Tour winner as Oscar Pereiro is now regarded.

I still hope he learned something this year and will get a real win one day!! In the end, personally, I still kinda like the guy and would be happy for him :) I dunno how he would handle another second place in the future. I'm not sure if he's got enough self-irony :p

Schlecks lost it in the pyrenees end of story. They needed to ride like they did in galibier. That was the perfect use of their team.

I was surprised - or actually not that much - when Andy Schleck after the time trial told he went deep in the time trial and said he didn't experience that kind of pain in a while. Means it was a relatively unknown experience for him which isn't helping mentally.

Shows his Tour only approach might be flawed after all.

Wrong. They lost it in both TTT & ITT. They are NOT overall skill riders, that's their downfall. Andy's win in the Galibier would have been enough if he had decent TT skills, say like S. Sanchez.

Cry Baby Andy should also spend MANY hours studying Alberto Tombo tapes.
Hell, maybe even hire him as a coach!

Na he never won worlds in XC. WC overall is what you are thinking.

Plus I was referring to his handling SKILLS, not just race results.

Tell me this is a parody: Andy Schleck is now saying that in the past he has not focused enough on the Tour.

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/andy-schleck-focused-more-than-ever-on-the-tour-de-france

"Maybe sometimes I did a bit too much to prepare these races, like doing Pays Basque and going really deep. I was focusing on the Classics maybe too much, and I've got to change this year so I'm better at the Tour, especially at the start of the Tour," Schleck said. "If you look at the past, Lance Armstrong won the Tour seven times and you never saw him in any races other than the Tour."

Armstrong won the Dauphiné, Suisse and was always good at Amstel Gold Race. Kid doesn't know anything about cycling, ban him already. This stupidity is far worse than 50 pictogram clenbuterol.

That quote and more in the soon to be released memoir: "Andy Schleck-Cycling Savant/My Many Words of Infinite Wisdom". :p

It's not an excuse and it's hardly a surprise. This much is true: he needs to be in better shape for the Tour, especially for the start (as he says). With Bruyneel as his boss it was clear this was going to be their strategy to achieve that ... what did you expect?
