A bit of respect for the last 2x time Tour France winner would be something good.

I don't feel this comes down to respect or disrespect. For me personally it would be rather disrespectful if Visma really plans to use Jonas as a dom for Jorgenson and Kuss. That in my opinion wouldn't prove anything meaningful, quite the opposite. In my opinion the backlash would be rather severe.

But OK you are saying Jonas and some others are saying Jorgenson should be higher in the hierarchy, then Kuss. Lets see on where they finish and on who did the dom work. After we can discuss if it was the right call to make, or not.

Visma is just trolling and they will continue to do that until the first real mountain stage. Bluff.

P.s- i didn't knew Visma said something like that. I read the article some minutes ago.

If Vingo gets relegated to a domestique role it'll be high time for him to search for a better team i.e. Israel Premier Tech (where he'll be a co-leader alongside Froomey!)

As an American, he seems to have a boasted ego from success and starts talking cocky. Very Americany thing to do.
Possibly. It’s also possible his agent or support team (at home) are telling him to take all the credit he can and stay in the limelight so as to make hay while the sun’s out, and boost his post career possibilities.
And he hasn’t yet said something like “they should be sh*tting their pants” and Im
Pretty sure Simon isn’t American :)

Vingo isn't doing domestic duty for anyone ... haha.

If Vingo can start the race, but is not able to compete for GC,, I suppose I could see Visma trying to use him like how they used Roglic as a decoy in 2022, the first year that Vingo won the TDF.

As I remember, Roglic fell and got hurt? but continued in the race and then on one of the big mountain days, Visma isolated Pogi and made him cover attacks of both Roglic and Vingo. (and maybe Sepp and/or WVA too? I don't remember). Point being, it appeared to me that Roglic knew he was going to eventually abandon as he wasn't 100%, but Visma was able to use him tactically before he did. Of course that scenario would make a lot more sense if Roglic was still on Visma.

So maybe I could see Vingo used as a decoy, but the day he loses time, I would guess he will drop out of the race.

But back then, it was only Pogi. Now there are Rogla and Remco too. So a decoy won't work.

Yeah, Pogi shouldn't have followed Rogla. He should've let Rogla go.

Social media is very very tricky most of these riders do fluffy back story stuff that has a good mix, their wife, pets, some sofa sitting, drinking coffee, oh what a nice guy..they all currently have it to some degree. Kuss has videos from Andorra and comes off as a decent guy and husband. There is always the risk of the encounter coming off as arrogant and overconfident.. Pog, and Remco both come off as likeable to semi likeable in their propaganda videos..

Gotta be careful so people don't route against you

He has probably not had covid all year...
I think he had it before the Dauphine started. I saw an article before the race started where the DS for Visma said he didn't know what type of results he expected out of Kuss because he had been recently sick and unable to train at the level he had hoped.

I only recently learned (maybe it was common knowledge) that he raced with it at last years Giro

Jumbo-Visma reportedly deliberated on how to handle Kuss’s own case, but decided to leave him in the race, apparently due to the fact that he was deemed not especially contagious. He was nonetheless kept isolated from teammates, and the docuseries apparently shows him talking tactics with Roglič via videochat.

Staying at the race in support of Roglič, Kuss proved especially valuable when he helped the Slovenian keep the gap to an attacking João Almeida and Geraint Thomas manageable on stage 16. Roglič went on to take over the race lead in the time trial on the penultimate stage, ultimately winning the Giro d’Italia.
